Love the roaster. We had the juiciest turkey this year. Adding water to the bottom of the roaster makes a moist bird without basting, is the way to go.  Just browned the turkey in the oven for 30 min for golden color.  Also, had a very moist, juicy spiral ham.

I bought this because my crock pot broke but when I got it I thought it was the wrong thing to replace a crockpot. No way I have used it every night since I opened the box it is a mini oven perfect for large meals slow cooked or ribs cooked in 2 hours or baking vegetables I haven't turned on the "big" oven for a month

I bought this to cook a huge turkey for Thanksgiving. It handled a 25 pounder with ease! It only took around 4-4 1/2 hours to cook the whole thing too. Set up and prep was super easy. Clean up was a piece of cake as well. I will use this every Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I had to get another one, my die after 25 years of use I just know this one will last me the same it great I cook a turkey this past weekend for my family and it was good and juice it a keeper. the last one I bought it at Walmart too so I know it is a great product

Great roaster

Cooked a 28lb turkey in 3 hours perfectly! Mine had a great brown tint and was super moist and tender! Only difficulty we had was trying to get the turkey out of the roaster due to the short metal handles-- if they were easier to get to and use, we would say this roaster was a perfect 5 rating.

Cooked a 28 pound turkey perfectly

Compared to others which were much smaller and/or more expensive. This one will take a LARGE bird or ham and does an excellent job. So far only cooked one large ham, turned out EXVELLENT. Took off "1 star" for rack handles being too short/awkward and no timer or other features beyond temperature. However, for the price I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more functional appliance for the purpose. Perfect for large holiday meals to save oven space. Cleans easy. Be aware this thing is huge though so think about where you are going to store it between events without building yourself a tool shed or a second garage.

Good Appliance for the Price

For the price it was a good deal.  Got it for my wife since her other large crockpot/roaster died after many years of service.  I would have given 5 stars if the darned thing just had a light to show it's on.  No light means touch it to see if it's hot????  Not a real good plan.

Not too bad

I was a bit skeptical, but decided to purchase when the roaster when on sale. I roasted a 23# bird and it cut almost half the time off! I'd read that the bird doesn't seem as brown vs oven roasting, but it browned just fine. I did however, broil for 5 minutes just to crisp up the skin a bit more. The only thing I wish is that the lifting tray were a bit more sturdy. I didn't have any issues with it, just feel that it could be made stronger.

Time Saver!

My old one died and I got this one the design different more rounded less square and lid rounded higher a nice new feature. I wish it had an actual off on dial. Rest seems ok same just getting used to squared edges for sizing on dishes or pans.   Less space for big things like brisket length but works fine made a ham in it so far ok.

Good roaster.

I received mine just before Thanksgiving so I didn't have a chance to do a trial run before turkey day. I cooked a 26 pound turkey at 325° using a digital thermometer so I wouldn't burn or dry out the meat. I was amazed that the timer went off in only 3 hours. The problem is that this roaster cooks way too fast and so even using a digital thermometer the entire bird was pretty dry which was a bummer because I am known to always cook a perfect moist turkey. This thing was huge and I am sure I could have easily fit a 28 pound turkey in it. The problem with this roaster from my experience as well as most of the reviews I read is that the thermostat has issues. I decided to return mine because meat is expensive and I don't want to waste more time and money experimenting with this thing. I almost forgot to mention that I also brined the turkey for about 28 hours so it should not have dried it out in only 3 hours. This thing just cooks too darn fast which is a bummer because I really liked it and it's size.

First time using the oven the temperature knob seems way off. I want to like it but I'm cooking blind. 

Now five hours in on a picnic shoulder, thermometer didn't even move. Manual said two hours!? Guess we're having cereal tonight.
