I ordered this item in white and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. It seems very sturdy, and along with the fabric baskets (purchased separately), it has tons of storage. I have mine set up horizontally with a birdcage on top and it works perfectly. I think my birds really like their new spot, too! It was a tad tricky to assemble but with my spouse's help, we got it put together. One of the shelving pieces had a scratch in it, but we were able to assemble the unit so it was out of sight. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Very Nice Shelving Unit

Received my order ahead of delivery date, all three packages arrived in good condition. Assembly was not difficult and we are very happy with the product. The best part is that each package weighed over 90 lbs. and the were delivered to my door, talk about a back saver.

Ordered on-line and product was deliver to our home. The shipping cartons had some bumps-scrapes-and digs but the products shipping carton was lined with Styrofoam and product was well protected. The units were easy to assemble and though the manufacturer suggested using a hammer to install the wooden dowels it was not needed. The parts fit together quite well and all the pre-drilled holes aligned properly.

This is a quality cube storage unit compared to others I've see for sale. It's very sturdy and can be put together in one hour if you just read the instructions and take each step as instructed.

We ordered two units and the first unit took longer than an hour (just being honest) because I went pretty slow just to be sure I was following the instructions. The second one went much faster as I was confident I had the task mastered. Not bad for a retired 69 year old!
Oh! I forgot to mention that one of the shelf boards has a small ding about dime size done at the factory but since it was placed towards the back it isn't seen at all. There was also one small flaw about the side of a pinkie fingernail on one of the base panels like a small raised area so that base section faces the wall and isn't seen either. Overall it was a great purchase and we are happy with both units.

Better Homes and Gardens 8-Cube Organizer

I purchased this piece as a set of 3 and created a wall unit with them. All 3 items were easy to assemble (I did it alone). The footprint and colors are all identical so it's very nice looking aesthetically. The quality of the items is better than I thought I was getting which is GREAT because it's in my kids room. I DEFINATLY recommend them. Shipping was fast and received them sooner than promised.

Better than I expected

We lay this piece down on its side to form an entertainment center in our living room - it's great because the cubes are deep enough to hold our vinyl and large art books. And the top is large enough to set a bunch of things on. The Espresso color is dark enough that you don't mind the laminate finish.

Versatile shelving that can hold a lot.

I bought this shelf for my record collection as the ikea expedit is now discontinued and the ikea Kallax would cost to much to ship and I'm happy to say this is a clone and maybe even of better quality than the expedit. It holds my entire collection with ease

Great shelf for records

These are just what I needed in my small home.  I've bought 5 now!
That being big said, I have seen how some of these are perfect and assemble easily while others have had chips and scratches and the holes don't seem to line up just right.  
3 of 5 were fine.  1 was damaged enough that I couldn't use it.  And 1 was slightly warped, so it's the only one in the group that won't sit straight. 
With the last one the pieces just wouldn't line up no matter how I tried and I ended up having my husband force it together. Even with the problems it's still a good shelf. The pictures show how the shelf leans forward slightly, but it sticks out less than an inch from the others.

I love these

A brilliant way to organize my house and family! Love the draws and the amount of space they give us to store item. My husband is an electronics engineer who's hobbies include leaving solder and tools all over the house because he's 'not done using it yet, I will need it again on Monday' so now it all goes in his draws. The kids have their own draws that are a specific color too. Some other shelves I looked at would not have survived a week with three kids, these will be here for many years.

Sturdy and easy to build

For the price, the unit is a good deal but be prepared for dings, scratches and lots of imperfections on the surface. I'm throwing a lot of stuff in it and mostly wanted it for the function, so I accepted it. The problems with the surface may be caused by shipping so I recommend purchasing this item in-store to minimize damage.

Lots of knicks and scratches on surface

I've order one 8 cube, two 4 cube and two 3 cube organizers. They have all been damaged in some way. The 8 cube had a forklift hole punched completely through it and the other 4 have had scratches, cracks and various other abrasions. The 8 cube was Walmarts fault and should have never been shipped the other 4 were just packed that way.

These are great organization cubes and they are unique in their look and design. Better Homes and Gardens would sell more and get fewer returns if they would put some effort into quality control.
