Love the pergola... So beautiful in my backyard

Amazing...

Beautiful! Set up was pretty easy... sturdy and heavy enough to withstand wind (we slide the shade to open the roof up if it's windy). Rails and shade can be easily removed for winter.

Love this! Would buy another if it wasn't sold out

Fit up was good and we enjoy the retractable awning. There is a small awning that comes with it but we did not install it because the use was not clear. The instructions are fairly good but are pictures and drawings only with no words. Some rust spots have shown up so a coat of tremclad wìll likely be needed at the end of the summer. The price was right for this unit.

Good retractable shade pergola

We got this Pergola on the "rollback" price. It's is an excellent deal. But... the instructions are not well done (unclear and incomplete illustrations). You need extreme patience and a very logical mind in putting this together. I found a video on line for another product similar. I would advise that you put the base together first, and then install the retractable shade and the upper support bars. Now installed we are very pleased.

Patience with assembly needed.

Bought this just a few months ago and loved it. As others have mentioned the roller pulleys are made of cheap plastic and after retracting it a couple of times most of them broke off. I tried to contact sungroup to order more parts and they are out of stock unsure as to when they will be available. Keep being told to check back in 1-2 months. Now I have a frame up with no use. Not worth the money

Loved it until it broke

As previously stated in a review  from Erin and pics posted I have the same problem with the roller clips snapping from  rain accumulation .The clips should be metal and the pergola should be slightly peaked in the middle to allow the rain to drain off . I need a set of 7 clips and rollers .

Roller clips snapped

Purchased mine in february, constructed it April 22nd. And on May 15th at 4am I was awoken by a huge bang/crash/boom. Only to look out my bedroom window to discover the sliders that hold the canopy in the track have all snapped off on one side and my canopy has fallen. Very unsatisfied with this.

Cheap parts and hardware

More than 4 hours has two adults, for a low quality pergolas. I am decue to put so much energy for the instalation to finally have a structure not solid..

Difficult to climb

Started putting the pergola together to find that 4 pulleys were missing... called customer service to get the missing parts but they won't send it because I don't have a receipt! Didn't keep the receipt as I didn't think I would need it as I wasn't planning on returning it. Can't finish putting it together without the missing parts. Not impressed.

Missing parts

Bought this to install Victoria Day weekend but after completing some assembly I discovered damaged parts. The one damaged part prevented the entire assembly and there was rust on the other corners at the stress points. When I contacted Sunjoy and spent an hour and half on their chat line I realized that it was best to disassemble, re-package and return as I had no more faith in the product and certainly none in the so called warranty
Wasted over 8 hours on this project and had to ask for help picking up and returning
