We just changed the multi-surface brushes today for the first time after purchasing the machine in December. It was very easy to change them! The manual says change the multi-surface brushes every 12 months but there were places where the raised areas are absent as the picture shows. I am satisfied with the wear since there have been approx 6 events where the unit picked up a cord or string or got stuck on a rough edge. I am ordering another set. Overall Roomba is one of the absolute best work saving devices my husband has given me! It saves me hours and I am able to keep the house much cleaner. And the physical discomfort of dragging an old upright around our eclectic 1900 built two story old home is history!

This robot cleans well and keeps itself out of trouble for the most part. But long hair which my family has lots of will destroy the front main brush.Engineers/ Designers should make it of a bit stronger rubber or I'll start buying knock-offs from Alli Babba Express.

My family Loves this robot butt.......

The good thing about it is gets up most of the cat hair on the hardwood floors and this keeps me from vacuuming every day. But the cost is high...I have the s9. The worst things about it....very noisy!!! It also gets stuck at the ends of short pile carpets. And I am very unhappy with the brushes. I have to replace the brushes after only 3 months of use.....they should last longer than this!

Brushes for the s9 awful

The product is a solid buy, although it's ridiculous how cheaply and delicate the parts are. In two months of use, I've replaced the brush 4 times and the roller three times. The part not so cheap either. I'm starting to feel that its more about the money than providing a productive products that is supposed to make life easier. Not so much at this point.

I like s9+ but the roller and brush are pour quality.

I have owned the S9 for about 2 months now and have gone through 3 sets of brushes. They tear easy and wear out quick. Our house is 90% hardwood floors. The ones that came with the unit lasted less than a week before tearing up on a sock it found under the bed. They clean well but need to be made more durable.

Brushes need to be more durable

I love my iRobot s9. But this is the 2nd time I've had to replace the rubber brushes. What's up with the quality of brushes?? Please make the rubber more durable! The first time, a long string completely severed the brush into 2 pieces. Second time, they've worn down so the grip is gone. I love Roomba, but these brushes are too expensive to keep replacing. Pls fix!!

At first I loved this product. We bought THE TOP of the line Duo set so my expectations were fairly high based on how much we paid. I cleaned the brushes after each use and noticed that the thin rubber on the brushes was falling off in chunks after only four uses. I called customer service assuming that this would be covered under warranty since we had it for only a month. I was informed that the brushes were not covered by warranty and that I would have to purchase new ones. For only a months worth of use and high price of the equipment, this was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend.

Brushes are very poor quality

We have had our Roomba for a little over a month now and we are on our 3rd set of these. For the price of the vacuum you would think the brushes would last longer then a few weeks. I love vacuum itself but having to replace these constantly is getting ridiculous.

Horrible

The vacuum is great, the rubber brushes are horrible. They rip into pieces extremely easily and you constantly have to replace them. The side brush is also an issue because it loses all of its bristles after vacuuming a few times. These brushes are unlike any brushes I've had with the Roomba. Previously owned the 980 and had no issues at all. I've only owned this vacuum about 6 months and I've already gone through about that many brushes. Terrible quality, especially for the price.

Terrible quality

This is my third roomba. The first was nice, but I bought the lower priced unit and once I gave it away to a family member moving into their own home, I bought the best unit. It worked great, but the emptying the bin frequently was the issue, so once again once the chance came around to swap for the s series, I went for it. Now, I'm disappointed with the rollers. They don't hold up.
