It's loud (if you're home) and it's expensive, but it's top tier without a doubt.

Unless it goes haywire at some point I can't understand why so many people have an issue. 

But I did get a 3 year warranty…

For a machine I selected for the  highest vacuuming suction that is not meant to mop floors, this is even better than previous similar versions of the Roomba that I have. It is much more efficient in battery use, and it gets more of the dust. The only issue is leaving a little bit of dustin the corners of rooms or cabinets.

it is better than the i7 which pooped out  Does a better job of picking up long hair from my Irish Setter.  The i7 used to leave clumps of hair on the carpet

I recently purchased the s9+ and was disappointed that on it's first mapping run it lost one of the bristle on the corner brush. I continued to use it with the one missing only to lose another one several cleanings later. I also have a 980, which I've had for a couple of years and have never lost a bristle. It doesn't seem like they are held in place very well, which will cause me to replace it even sooner than normal.

Overall suction, navigation and performance is outstanding. Only reason for one less star for me is it's pattern and way it cleans some rooms is strange. See images. It crosses it's own cleaning paths and sometimes doesn't do one at all

I have used this since December 20 25. It appears to do a good job. We have three large dogs and three cats and hair pick up is great. So far so good but it's only been a month.

This is the second s9 that is having issues. The first was purchased 3/6/20. It would stop in the middle of a job and give an error saying it was moved while cleaning when it was not. They sent a new one under warranty. The second was received on 9/1/20 and is now refusing to start a job. It shows that it is stuck while on the base. Customer care was no help, other than to say this is not normal behavior and she will have someone call me to discuss it. I have a 985 that has worked for years and never had any issues, I decided to upgrade and move the 985 to the basement. Biggest mistake ever. The s9+ is trash.

DO NOT BUY

I have hardwood floors and I simply want roomba to do a quick daily run on the high traffic areas (kitchen, high traffic passage/hall, and entrance). The whole area is roughly 800 sqf. I have change the settings to custom do that it does 1 run per area so that it's "as quick as possible", yet it takes about 1 hour to do 280 sqf, and that's if it doesn't get stuck. Every single day it manages to get stuck in the most stupid way possible. On the rare days it decides to do the entire job it also finds a way to screw up. As you can see in the attached picture, one day it decided it needed to clean my neighbor's house. So it happens that NY neighbor has the same iRobot model and we think somehow they were trying to get together for a good night out. The dumbest part of all? Now that route is permanently part of my map and the only way to erase it is to start from scratch again.... I can't believe the software doesn't allow for manual modifications to correct the dumbest "smart" appliance ever created. Another incredible aspect of this useless piece of junk is that it's built to run with the lights on. The camera that's on top of it, does not see well in darkness so you absolutely have to run roomba during the day of with the lights on!! Another annoying thing about this is that every 1 or 2 months it simply decides that it won't do the daily run for no apparent reason, so every time I have to press the clean bottom for 20 seconds to remind it that I actually do not like dog hair on the floors. Ling story short, do not buy this model. Even if you win it on a raffle, don't hesitate to give it away!!!! The sad part is that when it runs, it actually does a decent job on the hardwood floors. The thing is that it takes too long and only finishes about 2% of the job required. Like I mentioned before, my neighbor has the same model and he is equally as dissatisfied with it as I'm!
