I just wanted to say first of all, thank you Wal-Mart Customer Care service online, they have help me tremendously with my issue on my Igloo chest freezer I had ordered online and pick it up at my Wal-Mart store here in Georgia. When I got it home and unpacked it, I found some damage to the freezer, there was 2 dents and crack on the sides at the bottom left and right side, this had to be damaged during shipping, I was disappointed to find this damage on my new freezer that I just purchased. It looked like it was not packaged right and it was damaged in shipping it. I did not want to return it back to the store, I want to keep it, only wanted to know if the Customer Care service would adjust me in anyway with a discount on my purchase, I sent an email in to them Saturday morning to ask them to advise me on the issue. I received a response from the Walmart Customer Care, they are offering me a discount in gift card for the damages. I am very happy to say Thank you so much for everything. I want to also say thank you to the sales associate at Wal-Mart store #3388 in the pickup area for helping me, and getting someone to help me out to my car with the freezer. This has been a great service from Walmart. I will let everyone know about my experience with this. Plus I had my neighbor help me get the freezer in my house and set up, and they saw the damages too, and I will let them know what took place to resolve this issue.

After reading other reviews on this product, my husband and I decided to pick it up at the store because of flimsy packaging. When he and our neighbor brought it into the house, I was surprised by how well it was actually boxed up. He definitely needed help bringing it in (don't have a dolly) because the box was bulky. Opened up the box and had a lot of styrofoam on the sides and a big tray on the bottom. Company must have taken the complaints about flimsy packaging seriously.

I followed the directions of making sure it was never tilted, left it plugged in at 4 for 24 hours, and filled it up the next day with a meat package. Turned it up a little, and it's been working like a charm for the past week. No complaints so far. Wish I could have afforded to get the next size up, but packed right, this little thing holds 60 pounds of various cuts of meat (many of them bulky roasts), frozen pizzas, bags of chicken nuggets, and boxes of Popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. Definitely worth considering if you have a smaller family and need more than your fridge's freezer.

Pleasantly surprised

This will save me enormous amount of electricity. If the refrigerator is full the usage
is high to keep the freezer going. It take 5 amps. This small freezer is only .8 of an amp
the starting amps is 2. If the temp reaches the freezing point, it will stop running for
a long time. Your main ref. compressor will not run most of the time.

very good on electricity

I was in need of an extra freezer but I didnt was to break the piggy bank in buying a large upright freezer...This Igloo 3.6 cu. ft freezer it meets my perfectly the size is perfect and it CERTAINLY maintains its temperture regardless of what setting you have it on....The weight was minimal so it was easy to transport and even easier to get it in my basement...its JUST what I needed !!!

great little freezer

Had freezer shipped to my local Walmart for free pick up but when we got it home it was damaged..... nothing that affected it's performance just a ugly dent on side of unit.
At first I thought I would return but decided to just throw a bumper sticker over the damage and move on.....
Have had freezer for 2 weeks and love it!!
Perfect size for everything that does not fit in my freezer in the kitchen.....now I can stock up on ice and chicken when on sale!!!!
It is quiet and seems to be running awesome!!!!

Great little freezer!!!!

I've read previous reviews where freezers arrived damaged-- mine arrived in perfect condition... A VERY heavy-duty cardboard box slides down over a sturdy platform on which the freezer sat, surrounded with styrofoam, and the package was strapped down with heavy plastic banding.  In fact, the 'cover' is so sturdy, I'm not sure how I can dispose of it into my dumpster... or even get it up & in there (I'm 5' tall...) As for function, unit is very lightweight (not the 68+ lbs Fedex claimed) and was easy to "walk" into place.  MUCH larger than you'd think inside and 4x quieter than my refrigerator!  You cannot hear the unit running!  As for defrosting?  Haven't needed to do this yet... Reasonably priced for this unit.

Just What I Needed.

I just got the freezer a week ago and so far, so good. I followed others suggestions by keeping it upright for 24 hours before plugging it in and then running it for 24 hours before putting anything in it. The machine is super quiet! It holds so much more than I thought it would. I live in an apartment so space is at a premium. This freezer is compact enough and fits right in without being bulky or an eyesore. I cannot speak to any mechanical difficulties, as I have had none. It might be luck of the draw on that one. So far, I am in love with this, am glad I purchased it, think it is a bargain for the price, and I would recommend it definitely!

Just got it....

I've only had this product a few weeks and I normally wait a few months to do a review but so far so good. I read one review where the customer complained about not getting a drain plug, well that's the first thing I checked for and mine had one. I made room for it in my garage but if it were in the house it wouldn't be any more noisy than my refrigerator. I followed another customer advice and didn't plug it in for 24hrs and as it stands now I'm very pleased. It looks good and the wheels on the bottom helps moving it around very easy although its not heavy at all. I'm sure it will become much heavier when filled but I still thought it would of been a little more durable. You definitely can't expect it to take too much of a beating if you move it around a lot so make sure it's placed somewhere that's not a high traffic area in your home. Otherwise enjoy. I bought while it was on sale and so far it's worth the price. Time will tell.

Igloo Freezer

I am very happy with my new freezer. I was unhappy with the fact that it could not be delivered to my home and I had to pick it up. I had to make arrangements with a friend to help me as it required a dolly to take it to my loft where my laundry room is. I am on a 2nd floor condo so to get it to the loft it had to be pulled up 30 steps. When I got it out of the box there was a dent in the lid of the chest freezer. I was not about to take it back down the steps as it works just fine. I called the WalMart where I picked it up. They suggested that I return the freezer. I explained about the steps. They offered to give me a gift card for $15.00. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Igloo 3.1 cubic foot freezer

My discontent with the product is more so with the product packaging and both the factory and Walmart's delivery methods. When they brought the first freezer out from in store delivery there was a large heavy puncture in the top of the box and multiple punctures in the side of the carton. I put my hand through the top carton hole and felt a sizeable dent in the top loading door. I had the clerk contact management and they credited the sale but I then had to return home to reorder the freezer again and wait another week. When the new freezer arrived I noticed some indentations on the side of the carton but nothing that pierced completely through the carton so I accepted the shipment. When I unpacked the shipment at home I noticed a dimple in the upper left facing corner about 1 ¼ inches by 3/8 of an inch. There were also some smaller dimples in the lower right corner that were negligible but never the less should not be present on a new product. The factory packs the freezer with 4 thin foam center panels about 14 x 18 inches instead of corner protection. This in conjunction with consistent mishandling are a bad recipe for customer satisfaction. I have not returned the freezer nor contacted Walmart about it more out of disgust and lack of willingness to go through this a third time. Admittedly, the freezer performance is as stated by other reviews, very quiet and seemingly energy efficient. The challenge is getting it delivered unmarred!!!

I am unable to review the product. It arrived at the store so badly damaged, I had to request an on-site refund. The box it was shipped in was damaged in multiple areas to include a whole in the side of the box that resulted in exposing the power cord to the unit which was damage to the point it was stripped down to the wires. Disgusted in the handling of the product while in the shipping process.
