Design

Hair Straightner

Pros: 
Pretty and light weight design 
Did help with frizz and static 
Affordable $$
Good heat settings

Cons:
Button placement VERY annoying. I accidentally turned off the iron, and that's not ok. 


If you're going to blow dry your hair prior to use I think it works well. If you're just to straighten next day semi curled hair, I think it may struggle. You get what you pay for.

Excellent results; however, I do not care for the on/off and temperature selection indicators.  Have to have my reading glasses on to set iron temperature and power on/off.
I'll watch for this on my next purchase of a flat iron.

Elegant and Lightweight

I'm sure this flat iron will work for most people.  I wasn't happy with the results the first two times I used it and was thinking about returning it.  However, I decided to give it one more try and I found out that if I turn it up to 420 degrees and do only very small amounts at a time it works well enough.  But, I have 2A-2B coarse curly hair and it still does not get my hair smooth and silky.

I have had good results with this brand in the past but the on/off/temp control placement feels like it was designed by someone who never uses a hair straightener.  I am constantly turning off the unit or changing the temperature by accident because the buttons are right where your hand holds it.  So frustrating.

Button Placement terrible

I received  the straightener as a gift so I was hoping it would do my hair great but didn't do good on my hair at all.

Not happy

The buttons are poorly positioned so while you are smoothing your hair, you press the buttons so the heat drops / rises and there is no way to "bar the buttons during the smoothing to prevent the temperature from changing if you press on it.I have to constantly look at the temperature and readjust. If I position my fingers differently so as not to press the buttons, I end up burning myself on the plate. Very disappointed I no longer use it. Very poor value for money.

This flatiron is terrible, it's very poorly designed. There is no way to use it without pressing the temperature controls or power control so it often shuts off or the temperature goes down during use as the controls are on the front and it's also a very pressure sensitive toggle bar rather than buttons. No matter how one holds it, the bar will get pressed and the iron shuts off. Im very disappointed in Conair, which had always been my preferred brand, but this flatiron is useless. Unfortunately it cannot be returned to the store because it had been used and isn't broken.

Awful Design

I was hoping someone had figured out how to use this without turning it off.  But as with the other reviews I see, it seems useless since you can't hold it without turning it off.  Back to the store for return tomorrow.

Hoping to find an answer

You definitely know that a hairdresser did not make this I am a hairdresser and it's so frustrating to use this particular flat iron it has all the buttons and the on/off switch where you put your fingers to hold on to it you can't put your fingers any place else because you'll get burnt so you constantly changing the gears or turning it off, not sure why Conair would even think about selling this. This was a waste of my money I did a donation to conair.
