Having had 3 swings before this one, I can say that this swing is very quiet.  The mobile is a little noisy and only works intermittently, however.  I would return it, but I've already returned one defective swing and not interested in doing it again as I would have to take it apart and put together another one.  It's a bit challenging to assemble because the parts sometimes don't line up well.  Also, the seat is tilted to the right a bit, so baby tends to slouch in that direction as well.  I think the swing arm is not entirely straight, causing this to happen.

Pros:
1. Swing action is quiet (almost silent!)
2. Baby loves the lights
3. Very comfortable cradle seat

Cons:
1. Tilted seat (bent arm?)
2. Mobile that only goes around sometimes
3. Parts are difficult to assemble when they don't line up
4. Straps are awkward.  I feel that baby is never entirely secure because they slide around and fit awkwardly.

I would only purchase this swing again if I was sure to not get a defective one.

Would be great if not defective

We had a Fisher Price model that was a cradle and swing for our daughter 5 years ago. For the new baby we purchased this brand primarily for the color. We are so disappointed. When this model is in the 'swing' mode it leans to the side. It leans so far we don't even use it in that position. In addition, the seatbelt is extremely frustrating. It doesn't sit properly over the shoulders, instead it is really just restraining the arms and waist. Compared to the Fisher Price this product is extremely unsatisfactory.
