Description & Features+

Use 28669EG Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater System with maximum pool size of 15,000 gallons, and enjoy the same all natural process used in many resorts and in-ground swimming pools to keep your pool sparkling clear with less maintenance! A filter pump flow rate of 700 - 3,000 gallons per hour is required. When the saltwater system is installed, a measured quantity of pure, natural salt is added to the pool water. The amount of salt that is added to the pool water is only one-tenth as much as ocean saltwater, so swimmers won't see, feel, or smell any salt. All you will feel is incredibly clean, fresh, sparkling water!

Ratings & Reviews+

Intex 120V Krystal Clear Pool Saltwater System - 28669MW is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from very clear water I bought this in July of 2016 and connected it to the sand filter pump. Saltwater system kept the water clear all summer. I would run the saltwater and pump for approx. 4 -5 hours each day in the morning before using pool. Would recommend investing in the salt water system. The sand filter pump is not enough. The salt water system is so much healthier than any chlorine chemicals. My kids never complained about itchy eyes one skin. Make sure you rinse down the outside of your pool after every use. The water being splashed will go every where and may start to rust the pool tubing. Salt is harsh on metal. Paid approx. $200 Canadian for the salt pump.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not overly durable these pumps work well when they are working properly, but we need to replace our every second summer... still cheaper than running a pool on chlorine though

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GR8 Product First off - we were so happy when we ordered this on-line and it showed up 2 days later as it said it would. This chlorinator is very easy to add to your pool and operate also. There are also lots of other hose fittings depending on your filter set-up. I recommend this product (and for those that are still using chlorine pucks, consider changing to a salt water system = much nicer and a lot less maintenance)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Krystal Clear is exactly right! We have used this salt water system for 2 years and couldn't be happier with it. Easy to set up and use, low cost and easy to maintain. Keeps our 16 x 32 intex pool crystal clear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As advertised Have had this up and running for a couple of weeks. I am still getting it tuned in, but the chlorine is in the pool so I am happy. Our pool is 10k gallons or about 38k litres. It was bought to replace a Compupool generator that died after 3 years and two months (had a three year pro-rated warranty of course). The replacement cell for the Compupool was double the price of the Intex SWG (salt water generator) so worth a shot. It was delivered within a couple of days of ordering it so kudos to that as well - my pool didn't have time to turn green. The Intex SWG doesn't have alot of bells and whistles or settings - you tell it how many hours that you want it to produce chlorine in a day, hit "boost" when you need super chlorination and it runs eight times the normal setting (ie. 3 hours normal setting would be boosted to run for 24 hours, then return to 3 hrs per day - so it just runs longer). There is no timer - when you plug it in and set the amount of time to produce chlorine, it starts then and there, and then 24 hours later, and so on. The manual does include a chart to suggest how long it should run for based on the size of the pool, and the ambient air temperature, so it is open to some trial and error. Installation was a couple of female adapters to match to the threads on the Intex SWG and glued to 1.5" pipe, and then a union in the 1.5" pipe to allow me to remove the SWG for the winter. Too bad that the Intex unit doesn't simply accept a standard pump union fitting. So after a couple of weeks, I have to say that I am happy for the value when compared to the competition and their prices. Giving a 4 for now, would bump to a 5 if I get 3+ years out of it. I would recommend it.
