The ATIS 1000 AB Training System provides the additional benefit of AB training while inverting. I've tried other inversion tables with the foam roller ankle support and found them uncomfortable. This design actually clamps around the ankle/lower leg which provides a much more comfortable position. This allows you to relax and invert for a longer period of time, providing a better stretch. There is of course some pulling and tension, especially when at a full inversion. The locking system is a great improvement over a free flowing only system. If you like a particular decline, lock it in a relax. I was slightly concerned about the lack of a padded back support, however I like this system better now that I've used it. It's not bulky and allows easy movement and stretching from side to side. I'm an athlete, 190 lbs and my back takes a beating w/ running, biking, weight training, golf, etc. I feel the IronMan is very sturdy and safe. I did a lot of research, and this unit is better than many costing $100 or so more.

This inversion table is worth every penny. You get the benefits of an inversion table for stretching out and a great core training table with the locking mechanism. I am very happy with this table

Great value

What a great piece of equipment for the price. I would have liked to get a better back board but the one it came with is fine. Just a but noisy when doing ab exercises. It's very strong and sturdy and easy to use. It's fairly easy to assemble just take your time (I put the back board on upside down). It is heavy, though. I was glad I had it shipped home. It doesn't fold completely flat and definitely will not fit under a bed. I am very happy over all with my purchase through. This unit has great features that are easy to use and helps you get a good work out as well as helping your back feel better.

Great features

The IronMan ATIS 1000 is the perfect complement to my regular yoga practice. With all of the yoga I have been doing for the past six years, I thought I would never thought I would be diagnosed with degenerative lumbar issues, wedged vertebrae, and recurring inflammation. I was unable to sit, let alone exercise for two weeks and thought the pain would never subside. The chiropractor wasn't helping and there is only a short time period that steroids can be given to ease the pain. The inflammation finally relieved itself, but can reoccur at any time and more than likely will. I purchased the IronMan ATIS 1000 to keep my disc space open and free the fluids up to lubricate my lumbar spine. The table feels so good when I use it and I can tell that I am doing exactly what my lower back needs. I am hoping to be pain free for a long time. The core work outs I have been doing with the table are strengthening the inner lower muscles needed to support all of the pressure put on the lumbar area on a daily basis. I love this piece of equipment!! Great price for a solid table. My only complaint is the large size and burdensome weight of the table, even when in a folded up position.

Feeling great and core gets stronger everyday!

I have had this inversion table for a few days and am very satisfied with it. I bought it because I hav been having some severe prolonged back problems. I have used it just a few times, but I feel it has helped already? It is a little heavy about 80 lbs. the diagrams for putting it together are little confusing. In the end it worked out fine. I like it.

Does what it is supposed to do.

Having the IronMan ATIS 1000 has aided in the therapy of my collapsed spine, helping to elongate and stretch the vertebrae allowing for relief of pressure on my lower extremities and ease some pain I constantly endure

The IronMan ATIS 100 is very sturdy build inversion table. Works very well. Takes about an hour to assemble. Still working on adjustment on my ankles, some discomfort on dorsum of feet. It is heavy to move around and fold up, especially if you are having some back discomfort, perhaps a caution should state this in paperwork.

Great machine to give body a good stretch.

Having borrowed a Teeter Hang-ups model 9500, I was a bit skeptical about a table that was so much less expensive. In the end, it turned out to be an excellent value. Although the table does not pivot as freely as the Teeter, the handles provide an easy way to return to the upright position. The ankle clamps are MUCH more comfortable than those on the Teeter. This was my biggest concern in a low-priced table. Not only are they more comfortable, they are much easier to clamp and release.

On the assembly side, I had the "help" of my 13-yr-old and it went together pretty easily. The only problem we had was with the spring-loaded tube for the ankle clamps. The photos were not specific on the orientation of the cut-outs in the tube and with a 50:50 chance, we got it backwards. Had we noticed the error BEFORE we cut the string that allow access to the spring, it would have saved about 45 minutes of aggravation trying to reattach something to the spring so we could reverse and correct the assembly process. Again, this was our error but be careful to check the operation of the ankle clamp spring and locking mechanism before cutting the tether.

The only disappointment that would keep me from rating this a "5" is the inversion locking mechanism. Although it may not be like this on all (could be a mfg defect) the latch is VERY hard to engage in the "LOCK" position. You have to hit the lever pretty hard with the palm of your hand to engage the lock. On the flip side, it is relatively easy to return to the "FREE" position, so you are unlikely to get stuck inverted. I took apart the mechanism for the lock and the spring loaded ball that latches into a hole in the lever is set too high. Without significant disassembly there was no way to adjust this setting, so I'll just keep hitting it when I want to lock into position in the hopes it will loosen over time.

All in all, an excellent table for less than half the price of a Teeter that does not offer the locking mechanism.

A couple of the plastic pieces came broken but did not affect actual use. Should have been caught by QC.........
