Description & Features+

Rarely can a film penetrate the glamorous surface of rock legends. "It Might Get Loud" tells the personal stories, in their own words, of three generations of electric guitar virtuosos - The Edge (U2), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), and Jack White (The White Stripes). It reveals how each developed his unique sound and style of playing favorite instruments, guitars both found and invented. Concentrating on the artist's musical rebellion, traveling with him to influential locations, provoking rare discussion as to how and why he writes and plays, this film lets you witness intimate moments and hear new music from each artist. The movie revolves around a day when Jimmy Page, Jack White and the Edge first met and sat down together to share their stories, teach and play.

Ratings & Reviews+

It Might Get Loud is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Real Guitar Heroes Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) The Edge (U2) and Jack White (White Stripes) get together for slightly contrived meeting/jam session. Good idea but could have been done better. Biographical info on each in their own words complete with childhood photos and tales of early musical interests. They return to familiar stomping grounds and tell us about buying their first guitars and early bands they played in. They show us how they came up with their "sound" and play little riffs to illustrate their stories. I liked this movie. 97 minutes long and goes by fast. Interesting film even if you aren't into rock or guitars. Made me more of a White Stripes and Racontuers fan although Jack White comes off as a bit of a disrespectful punk. Page and "The Edge" seem more genuine and sincere. Must for Zeppelin fans who want a glimpse of Page. Funny to see Jimmy Page playing "air guitar" while showing us his personal record collection. Also funny to see the grins on the faces of White and "The Edge" watching Page play "Whole lotta Love". Like kids watching their hero. Both you and your parents will enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Might Get Loud Saw this movie at Enzian Theatre in Winter Park, FL is incredible by focusing on the guitarists rather than lead singers...if you enjoy background information, embarrassing shots of U2 in old days and Jimmy Page taking you back to where they recorded many Zep songs -- won't be disappointed. It played for 10 days in fall in Winter Park and I saw it five times -- yes, it is that excellent and not boring...
