Ratings & Reviews+

Kawasaki K20G 20" Hardtail Bike is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from pretty good for the money We bought this moutain bike for our 8 year old daughter as she really wanted a bike with gears. Apparently this is a hard thing to find at a low price. I put the bike together but had a hard time figuring out the brakes. They were way too tight so that the wheels didn't turn on their own so I ended up taking it to a bike shop for them to figure out. It cost me an extra $35 but I feel it was worth it. My daughter loves it but has some trouble with the hand brakes still. It's just going to take some getting used to. I think it's a pretty good value though once it's put together correctly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Daughter Loves It!! The bike was easy to put together. It has a nice look and was just the right size for my 7yr old daughter. She had the biggest smile on her face when I surprised her with it. The only downfall is the gearshift as it is hard for her to shift it down, up is easy for her. Plus we had to move the gearshift as the pictures were not visible to her. I'm not sure if there is a tension control on the gearshift that will make it easier. My 3 year old is jealous of her big sister!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like a winner! This bike was a Christmas gift for our granddaughter. It went together well and appears to be well made. She hasn't had much chance to ride as we have had snow and rain for a week. It won her heart immediately and can be passed on to a younger brother as the style looks manly enough to please a boy too. Nice Bike!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low Quality Great concept of only having 6 gears and one gear shifter to get a youngster used to shifting gears while riding. However, I have had to install and adjust several brake and derailleur systems in the past and the systems on this bike are by far probably the worst I have ever worked on. The brakes are operational and not bad. The derailleur system is awful. In fact the derailleur is so bad, I wouldn't pick this bike up at a garage sale for $20!. Very poor precision and the adjustment mechanisms are very sloppy. If your lucky, you can make adjustments so that 4 of the 6 gears are operational without rattling. The shifter also seems a little to hard to twist for young, growing hands. Don't waste your money. In my opinion, if you're going for an entry level bike, make sure they have at least Shimano systems...that is what I learned from this experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The bike looks very good and I received it earlier than expected. However, when I received it in the box, I found out the speed cable was broken and wheels were crooked. We had to pay 60$ for someone to fix it in order to have it on time for my daughter's b-day. Bummer! At least now it runs like a new.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this bike for my 7-year-old hoping she would be able to ride it for a few years. It was a little hard for her to ride it at first since it is much larger than the other bike she had been riding. A little practice and she got it all figured out. She can change the gears easily by herself and she quickly adjusted to using hand brakes since she was used to pedal brakes on her old bike. It was easy to assemble right out of the box. I had a little trouble adjusting the brakes and they get out of whack if she tips the bike over. However, a little help from youtube.com on adjusting v-brakes and we got it all figured out. It's a heavy bike but totally works for what we needed it for. It's definitely not a bike shop quality bike, but it cost a lot less than those. With bikes you definitely get what you pay for. As far as budget friendly bikes go, this one works great. We like it so far.
