Ratings & Reviews+

Kensington Orbit™ Trackball With Scroll Ring is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 65.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from trackball I bought this trackball for my daughter who has very limited hand movements due to Muscular Dystrophy. She loves it. The scroll ring seems to work perfectly for her.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a hand-saver for RSI sufferers. I'm a programmer and I use this trackball at both work and home. I've also suffered with recurring RSI in my hands for the past 15 years. I've found that trackballs with a center ball shift the stress across three middle fingers, and that has greatly reduced the inflamation. The scroll ring is fantastic -- I took to it immediately (no learning curve at all -- just seemed natural to turn it with the middle or third finger). It's not perfect (ball is a bit too small for my liking), but Microsoft quit making their Trackball Explorer and this is the best alternative I've found (this one plus the upper, $80 "Expert" model from Kensington, which I have two of at work on other machines -- it has a huge trackball, which seems a bit too large, but I actually like it better, though it's pricey). (I've also tried Logitech's wireless trackball, but it didn't fit my hand as well as the Kensington's do.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Works as advertised, after getting help from a very nice and efficient customer service dept. They gave me a link to download the right drivers for the "TrackBallWorks" software which allows button configuration. Very good software package, just wish there were more buttons. I've been using MS trackball opticals for a number of years, and I really miss the extra programmable buttons. WHY DOESN'T SOMEONE MAKE A GOOD REPLACEMENT ??? The "Orbit" ball rolls very smooth and easy. It takes a little "getting used to" because I'm accustomed to the "thumb ball". Good product overall, but I'd rather have another MS trackball :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I love the trackball. I think it's better than a mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kensington Orbit Trackball I love this trackball it makes it easy with the scroll ring. With the regular mouse I was having hand pain. I bought three, two for my home and one for work. I just love it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kensington Orbit trackball The blue ball is big, one and a half inches diameter, great for easy and speedy handling and accuracy. The scroll ring is easy to use and allows me to scroll up and down in a more controlled manner. Now I do not have to depend on using the awkward upper buttons in the logitech trackball device (which I also like except for those tiny buttons). The Kensington Orbit trackball did not bring the "tail" plastic that the packaging box appears to insinuate to be present. If that is the way it was intended, it should have been mentioned in the advertisement. It is for resting the wrist over it. But I guess I can live without it. That is why I rated it 4 over 5. Otherwise I love it. And for $29.61 the price is right. I will order another one today.
