Can be straightforward, but may require extra effort or clarification.

I could not use a standard baby gate at the top of our stairs as there wasn't any wall or stair post to affix the gate hinge and lock. 

THANKFULLY this KidCo Angle Mount baby gate allowed me to have the lock secured to the wall at a 90 degree angle to the hinge. See pics for examples. It feels really secure (drilled into studs behind the drywall).

But the stairwell gap is about 42” which is right at the limit of this baby gate, so I also purchased the extension separately. Altogether super pleased with how it turned out. 

I haven't seen many reviews or examples of this gate placement, so if this is your situation, rest assured it works well. There is one part that is normally used on the top locking mechanism which prevents outward opening of the gate, but since the wall does the same, this part is unneeded. You actually can't use it if you need the gate to lock in parallel to the locking mechanism.

Quality unit...good installation guide

Great gate, very sturdy, easy to assemble, looks premium (metal our metal pickets and dark-stained banisters), works well for our angled stairways. My husband installed 3 of those using banister-to-banister kits and said it was very easy. We didn't use the templates and measured everything from scratch just in case. I do find it a bit hard to open and close but on the flip side it's very secure.

Great gate

This gate is perfect for angled spaces. We had a hallway where the opposite walls didn't line up so this was the only gate I could find that would fit on an angle. Easy to install though kind of finicky. It was able to handle the wall difference between baseboard and wall with no problem. Gate opening mechanism is easy and it seems to close easily.

The only gate for an angled space!

I am very satisfied with it. I am glad that I got it. Don't have to worry about anyone falling down to stairs. Very happy with it.

I like the baby gate. Very easy to assemble. .

Simple enough gate to install. My opening was larger than the gate, which was my issue but I was able to get a panel from another gate and put them together.

Easy to install

This gate is very sturdy and looks great in our modern home (I was initially worried about the aesthetics but it blends in nicely.) I can't speak to ease of installation because we had someone install them but it looked fairly straightforward.

Sturdy and Nice-Looking

The gate itself is really sturdy and a nice design. However it's tough to install and get closed one handed.  I have to use my foot to align the bottom closure. It's also hard to adjust with one person if you don't align it precisely when installing.

Overall I like the gate, it was an angle mount which was essential because I don't have 2 studs directly across from each other to mount any other kind of gate and I like that there's no threshold. We used this for a hallway not stairs. What I disklike is the install process, it was way more challenging than it needed to be, directions are unclear in some parts, it lists the items included but not how many of each you should have so no way of knowing you're missing something until you need it. Installing was such a pain, that's why it lost 2 stars, basically throw out the template, install the hinge side then line up the other side while you fiddle with how wide the gate should be. The latch parts are plastic so time will tell if it holds up!

Great for an angle mount, terrible installation

Missing pieces and assembly instructions are quite unclear. Had to guess alot while assembling and installing. Works okay after installing, but not very sturdy.
