Description & Features+

Now better than ever, Kingsford® Charcoal features Sure Fire Grooves®. These deep, wide and long grooves mean the briquets light easier and heat faster — while burning just as long as before. As always, each briquet is made with natural ingredients and real wood, resulting in the authentic smoky flavor that Kingsford has long been known for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LOOKING FOR ANOTHER BRAND!!!!! After using Kingsford for 40 years, we are extremely disappointed in your"new and improved" formula. We used the briquettes for cast iron Dutch oven cooking. Sad to say we now use three times as many coals as we used to. Not worth the cost. Please bring back the old formula. We can no longer recommend your product as we have in the past.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burns out as soon as they are ready This is the first time I have used these in years. They burn out way too fast and they don't burn hot. THe whole point of charcoal is that it is supposed to burn hotter than gas. As soon as I take the Kingsford out of the charcoal starter, I can barely get the grill to 300 degrees. It's been the same thing over and over

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Have to agree with other negative comments I am a Long time users of KIngsford Charcoal. This season I bought a 2x20 lb package as we usually do. I find the new coals don't last as long. The old briquet was larger than the new ones. We have also found they don't last as long. Please go to the old tried and true.back

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unhappy I've always used Kingsford, but will be looking for another brand. The briquets light quick, but they also burn quick. I don't remember ever having Kingsford burn this fast. As others have said, it's ok for weiners or a couple burgers, but for anything that takes longer to cook, you'll have to keep adding briquets to make the coals last. I'll be trying different brands in the hopes of finding something that lasts longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Demise of Kingsford Up until recently, as a professional chef for over 30 years, I have been a huge consumer and promoter of Kingsford. However they have apparently made a change to their product that renders it useless for smoking or grilling. This charcoal now fires up and burns out without generating enough heat to put a sear on a steak or even a piece of fish. It burns out so quickly that you are unable to cook chicken or pork without having to add additional coals. It is no longer feasible to use in my smoker because of it's short burn life.Very dissappointing for a brand that set the bar for grilling professionals. I would recommend using natural chunk charcoal and avoid this product until they revert back to their old recipe.
