ONCE IT FREEZES, YOU CANNOT TURN IT OFF, AND IF YOU TAKE THE SD CARD OUT, YOU STILL LOOSE EVERYTHING. I RISKED RETAIL OF $197 BECAUSE I THOUGH "KODAK "WAS A NAME TO TRUST, HEARTBROKEN.........

I love this camera! It takes nice pictures and is really easy to both operate and carry anywhere. My sister has one too and loves it. Strangely, we both had the same problem with the camera. The door where the memory card goes in is not only water-tight, but will not open, even when forced. We both had to send the camera back to the company to get the memory card out and the camera repaired. Highly frustrating. I haven't even been able to develop my pictures yet. Hopefully they will fix this problem.

Great camera, mechanical issue

I did a lot of research on mini camcorders before the purchase. Also looked at a lot of reviews very similar to this one. I figured for the price, I had to try it out. When I first got it in, the negative things started, like it would freeze for no reason and it didn't work with my class 10 SD card. BUT... if you pay a visit to the Kodak web site, you can down load an update to the camera that fixes both problems at once. I still get a few error messages here and there, but it is as simple as shutting the camera off and starting it back up. The main thing you need to remember is that this is a VALUE mini camcorder. It is NOT a high end camera worth 100's of dollars. I have had this camera for just over a month now and so far I have taken it to the beach, taken it out on the boat, to a water park, and have taken it on a few scuba dives. I purchased a housing from Ikelite that allows this camera to go 200 feet. Under all circumstances, this camera did everything it said it was going to. At first, I was worried about the built in battery while diving, but I have down multiple scuba dives and the battery has lasted through them all. Plus the 2 days at a water park without a charge. The one down fall I can think of is the error messages that pop up every now and then, but I can deal with those for the price I paid.

Great Little camera for what you pay!

This camera is a great little gadget for catching all of the little moments in life and the big events too. I am mainly using it to capture my brand new baby's special moments. The only problem is that it has no backlighting or even an external lighting or flash option. So I always have to consider the lighting in the environment.

Almost perfect

First time used it froze during video recording TWICE, each time requiring a reset to unfreeze. On one occasion it froze and in resetting, file created was corrupted and not usable or viewable!!!
Looks like bugs in product that have not been worked out.

Initial troubles-hopefully not long term

bought this for my son before a trip to the carribean. Read that water gets in it and that it won't shut off but choose too ignore this. Big mistake.took it to snorkel and dolphin swim. Wouldn't turn off and had water under screen. Now I have to figure out what to do with it when we get home.not happy with this purchase at all

Should have listened to other reviews

I purchased this and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it! I love it. It is so fun taking pics, cropping them, and even selecting frames from video to turn into pics!

So much fun to own!

I bought this digital hd video camera to take sports pictures of my daughter playing softball. Quality of the HD is nice...image stablization makes for steady images....easy to upload directly to any social network or to share with family and friends. Only wish it was able to zoom in more...need to be fairly close to action to get images.

Good Digital Video Camera for the Money

Bought this for my 14 year old daughter and thought it would be just a nice toy for her in the water. Turns out everybody in the pool had a BLAST with it. You won't believe the resolution and color brilliance. Total Five-Star purchase and it was great for our vacation!

Very fun camera!

We have used our underwater for video and still shots so far and it's worked good. No issues as of yet.
I haven't tried to use the softwear yet to post videos, but will after the trip. So far, it's just been used in a pool most of all and the videos are good.
