Product has a high moisture content and tender texture.

Has an unpleasant odor when opened or cooked.

Offers fresh ground beef at a lower cost.

I haven't eaten this ground beef yet - I put it in the freezer. But I have to say that I was a bit shocked at the small size for the price paid. I'm trying to save money by not buying frozen meals, and making my own from scratch, but this doesn't feel like saving money. It looks like I might get 2 hamburger patties from it. Maybe 3. I guess that's why Hamburger Helper has been so popular.

Must be why Hamburger Helper is so popular.

Beef in package was sickly looking and while cooking I was wary of the smell of the meat. It was used in a soup and it appeared to be alright but still had a suspicious smell to it.

Lean Ground Beef

I'm used to buying local and farm ground beef which is a dark red with much less shrinkage. There is too much water in this meat. I wasn't impressed. I buy it from WalMart when I'm ill and have to have delivery but otherwie woudn't.

Not very good - too much water - pale and shrinks

The meat does not weigh 450 g. In a time where we want to reduce plastic packaging, Walmart should do better. However the meat is good and reasonably lean.

Lean ground beef

This is the second time I've tried eating the ground beef from Walmart and it was just as disgusting as the first time. The smell of it was even gross but I cooked it and made spaghetti sauce as the best before was more than fine, and it tasted like it was meat from an old cow. Never again. We tossed our whole dinner and had to make something else.

Walmart Ground Beef=Nastyyyyyyy

TOTAL FAILURE! I prepared the beef on its own, separating it with a 2-pronged fork, in a Starfit fry pan on med-low heat until thoroughly cooked. The meat was nicely brown, and meat stayed separated, instead of clumping together as it sometime does. The meat glistened and looked oily. I took a small amount to taste and was disgusted! The texture was right, but there was an ARTIFICAL OILY TASTE. If I had to guess, some additive was used to produce this texture, and color. It's now 4 hours after I tasted the meat and I still have that horrible taste in my mouth.
Is it me? Or is it the meat?
You tell me!!!
( In a separate pan, I sauteed green onion, diced carrots, walnuts, diced portobello mushrooms, and powdered garlic. I blended the two together, which is evident in the photos.)*

GROSS! tastes like beef covered with rancid oil!

I recently did an online order and I ordered 2 ground beef one of them seemed to be normal and edible. Unfortunately, went to use the second one and it was completely brown and had a strong odour definitely not good for consuming. I was incredibly disappointed because groceries are not cheap and to waste $10 on a meat that I didn't get to make or eat is truly disappointing.

Low Quality Meat

Received this product and noticed the quality was poor as compared to a Walmart competitor. The product was multi-coloured. It should be red, not a mix of red, grey and brown. Gross. Also, it was so greasy, so I question if it was actually 'Lean Ground Beef', as described on the website and packaging. Would not purchase this item again from Walmart.

Brown-ish Raw Beef?

I usually don't hate the meat here, it's fine. But the speed of which this beef went bad from when I purchased it is absolutely unacceptable. I didn't even get to use it.

What a waste...

An uncommon occurrence from Walmart but this ground beef is as bad as it gets. I have bought it twice and the two times the meat didn't last two days. Their butcher is not paying attention to the brand's commitment to quality. I would avoid it like a plague. Once can happen but twice is just wrong.

Don't even get near it

Normally ground beef, just tastes like ground beef. This ground beef the lean, is truly lean in every sense.

Fresh, Lean, good value.

Lean Ground Beef, Your Fresh Market, 450 g loose-packed raw ground beef shown front-facing, coarse minced texture with light fat streaks; ideal for hamburgers, tacos, meatloaf or casseroles and often used for family meal-prep batches.
