LEGO Bionicle - Kopaka – Master of Ice (70788) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bionicle is Back! Amongst what might possibly the most exciting revivals of all time (along with Hostess) comes Kopaka, "Master" (I'll always know him as a Toa) of Ice. I actually got this set $5 off and two weeks before it should've come out, so I'll be the harbinger here. Alright, lets get started. Build: This was a very easy build, but no one really likes intricate builds on Bionicles as long as their simplicity comes through. Kopaka has nice ball joints on ankles, knees, hip, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and head which provide good articulaton. Speaking of simplicity, I found it interesting that the Toa were given their Mata masks instead of Nuva (or whatever else Lego could whip up). Also funny how they had the twist-the-wheel to move-the-arm thing. That was the main Technic function on the Toa Mata. I like the golden mask but Lego should tell fans more about its function and role. The skull spider is outright weird, but it's much better to have a small and petty antagonist in every set rather than none at all. It fits okay on the head of Kopaka but the large gold shoulder pads get in the way. The frost shield has four functions. The first is the shield itself as shown on the box. The second is two super boss swords that go in each hand. The third is two cool looking skis, and the fourth is one giant snowboard. If you have half a bain it'll be easy to figure out how each work. The mask falls off easier than any Bionicle I'e owned but it's not horrible. I really look forward to purchasing the giant skull spider, the Protector of Ice and the Protector of Jungle. Hope you ike my third review!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mighty Master of Ice Kopaka is easily one of the best, if not THE best of the new Toa sets. Like the others, he takes inspiration from both his Mata set, and his Nuva set. His shield becomes skis, similar to how his Nuva figure's sword became skates. The build is solid, and easy for those who have experience with CCBS (or more simply known as the Hero Factory system), with the exception of the gear box, which is still fairly easy to build if the instructions are followed. What some might see as a problem is that the detail on his legs consists of stickers, but I don't see it being too much of a problem. His articulation is the same as old Bionicle and Hero Factory sets. Unlike Tahu, who I previously reviewed, only his right arm is geared. Both of Tahu's are geared. Kopaka's shoulder pads are not a problem in the slightest, as they are attached to HF bones to allow arm movement. This is the best rendition of Kopaka I own (as I don't have the Mata or Nuva versions) as he is pretty much flawless. I strongly recommend picking this guy up, as he is one of the best sets released in the rebooted Bionicle line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best New Bionicle I wasn't really involved with the first Bionicle theme, but I thought the reboot looked interesting and picked up Kopaka and the Master of Ice recently. Kopaka is a really great model. Even though the build was simple, it was quite fun and the figure looks amazing. The new armor mold is interesting and adds to the design. The inclusion of the golden mask increases playability, however it is not sufficiently explained. Both masks are impressive. The movable arm works well but is sometimes hindered by the huge golden shoulder armor. My favorite part is certainly the ice shield. All four functions look good. Now to recount the pros and cons. Pros: -Movable arm -Shield pieces with four functions -Small spider -Great armor -Two masks -Printed chestplate -Very impressive design Cons: -Stickers on upper leg pieces -Shoulder armor interrupts path of arm function -Pins stick in feet when removing skis As you can see, the pros far outweigh the cons. Overall, I give Kopaka, Master of Ice 5 stars. I am very satisfied with the set. I recommend it to everybody.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kopaka - Master of Ice! Overall I think this a great BIONICLE set. I really like the color scheme, especially the translucent light blue CCBS bone pieces. Some pros of this set are the color scheme, the use of CCBS, the great masks that were included, and the geared action feature. Some cons that I have with this set are the stickers on his leg, the new mask attachment system, the size of the shield, and the lack of friction in the gear system compared to the other toa of 2015. I don't know if it is just my set but, if I pick Kopaka up and shake him around as if I am playing with him, his arm will tend to swing around. I tried fixing this numerous times by trying to tighten the gears, but the arm still swings around I have also shook my other toa around and not one of them had the same problem as Kopaka. I don't know if this problem is due to were the "extra friction gear" is located, or if I just have a lose blue ax-ell pin that is connected to the gear. I hope if you get this figure, you do not have that same problem that I have. This concludes my review of Kopaka - Master of Ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from He has ice in his veins Bionicle is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kopaka is personally my favorite of the 2015 Toas. He has a cool shield which can double as skis, ideas form the Nuva version of him. His spear is cool looking and perfect for the element of ice. His mask is the closest to the Mata masks than the rest of the toa. He is covered on all parts of his body, including the backs of his legs. His print on his breastplate is very nice and unique. The gear functions has a great amount of friction. The gold in his color scheme make the golden mask he comes with fit in perfectly. His mask does come off quite easily, but that is a complaint with all of bionicle in 2015. The skull spider is a good idea, but much too small to be any challenge to this mighty Toa of Ice. While the gold is different for Kopaka and not the usual secondary color for an ice hero or villain, I think it works in well. The bulkiness of Kopaka, while not fitting of his personality and style, makes for a great figure. And since this is a reboot, maybe it will become part of his personality. Pros Mask weapons skis abundance of armor height and width Cons price skull spider is a weak adversary mask/head connection (same with all of the 2015 sets)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Cool! First off, I'm absolutely ecstatic that Bionicle has returned, and not a moment too soon. For the set itself, I enjoyed making it along with that nostalgic feeling of opening and building a new set. It's a little bulky, but the more I look it over I can understand that these aren't the originals, but they are a great start. Now I'm off to purchase a couple more sets. Thank you so much for bringing a pivotal part of my childhood back Lego.
