Ratings & Reviews+

LEGO ® City - Helicopter Rescue (4429) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 73.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, many possibilities Like the title says, this set is a very well thought-through set. At £35 it represents great value for money (425 pieces) and offers many of the play possibilities that a much larger set offers. My nearly five year old son built most of the building himself (we hand him the appropriate pieces for each page of the instruction manual and he places them accordingly) before asking me to complete most of the helicopter and ambulance. He was able to do so with the minimum of input from me and was thrilled with the result and the poor non-medical minifig included has been in and out of hospital more times than I would prefer for myself. The building itself is also a great little build, not too basic with some clever techniques and real-world touches. Others have criticised the size and lack of scope (some have mentioned the desirability of having an operating theatre of similar) but I would reiterate that for £35 this is very good value for money (in Lego terms) and for lots of children will allow them to enact many of their creative play scenarios. In some ways the absence of such features may only encourage children to creatively build their own in due course. I also quite like the thicker base plates, despite being skeptical at first; they allow the medical centre to be placed on top of road base plates, rather than just adjacent to them. In sympathy with others, I would however have liked to see one further minifig to staff the hospital, either a nurse of admin type - that is going to be one busy doctor! Pros: - Great value - Good looking building, interesting techniques and touches - Plenty of play possibilities - Clear, easy to follow instructions - Thicker base plates (controversial I know) - Very cool doctor minifig Cons: - One more minifig would have been perfect

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good set The set is good and has many pros, but it is too small to be a hospital. the small size of the two floors make it a good emergency area and great addition to the earlier lego hospital as an emergency area. all in all, this set is good, and you have to make-do with what there is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set! This set is an awesome set to play with! My son already had some Lego police cars and fire trucks, so this was an excellent addition to his emergency Lego vehicles. The set is designed well not difficult to build (my 7 year old did it all by himself). Excellent purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product was perfect for our six year old grandson. Lego set was wonderful. Challenging for a six year old but great step-by-step instructions so he was able to build the set himself. Highly recommend the product but I would pay more to get elsewhere. On-line ordering and pick-up was a very bad experience.
