Ratings & Reviews+

LEGO® - City Supplementary - Straight & Crossroad Building Toy is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 76.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Is it Good, Better, or Best? Just good. Here's why: Suppose I want four straight plates-one for each side of the crossroad plate, plus additional straight plates to extend the straight road further. It means I have to buy more than four sets of 7280. I don't need that many crossroad plates! I would rate the plate design as Best because it does fit in well with the City Lego pieces. However, the fact that you cannot buy single or bulk straight plates of this design (same for the crossroad plate) bodes well only for the Lego Sales folks. Marketing should rethink this mistep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Evil but needed I'd give it a 5 stars if it was not forced to purchase multiple items for a straight plate! either split it or pack the same type in one package! making us buy something we don't need is not nice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a long road I cannot emphasise enough the need for just a straight plate pack, even if it was a double. No Lego builder needs that many cross roads or corner pieces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE, BUT OVERPRICED I own one of these, and two of the curved and T-junction baseplates, and I have to say, they are much better than any other type of roadplates LEGO has made.It is very high quality, and the paint never scratches off. The best thing about these roadplates is that each of the lanes are now 6 studs wide, so they can fit the 6-stud wide vehicles in LEGO City. However, that means there is one less stud for building space (It is only 6 studs now, instead of 7).Another great thing is they look much more like real roads and have a darker shade of grey. But there are a few problems.Firstly, LEGO sells a straight and a crossroad, instead of having two the same. This is a problem, as if you need 6 straight road plates for your City, you will need to buy 6 packs of roadplates to get the ones you want, and it is quite annoying when you have lots of crossroad plates and you don't need them. The main problem is the PRICE.It is way overpriced, for just two roadplates!LEGO really needs to lower the price. Overall, the baseplates themselves are very good quality and will last a long time, but but a few packs of them and it'll really hurt your wallet.I give it a 7/10. ©iaô!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same plates, same pakkage 2 different plates in one pakkage? Why? I don't need crossroads, I need strait plates en curves. Please consider to form pakkages with only strait plates, curves and crossroads. Thanx.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well......not the best purchase I ever made. I think the issue with the road plates is this: The pairings are not very logical. The set would make more sense with one crossroad plate and four straight plates. As it stands, it's a 1-1 trade-off and I can't see needing 4 crossroad plates while I always need straight road plates. I'd suggest Lego sell the straight road plates in sets and the crossroad plates individually. The other thing that would be an asset is if Lego would provide some road diagrams similar to what they do with the train track pieces in order to give builders some inspiration and ideas. I wouldn't buy this product again as it is packaged.
