LEGO® City Trains - High-speed Passenger Train (60051) is rated NaN out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing train! I've always wanted a Lego train, and finally got my hands on this! I ended up buying two for more track and to make a longer train. (After making the center car from the second set, there are nearly enough pieces to build another center car out of the pieces of the two engines. I only needed a couple of bricks from outside the set to finish it) If you make a longer train, a single motorized engine is capable of pulling it along. The only flaw in this set is a simple fix. I had issues putting the sleek windshield housing on over the front and rear of the train. The corners were bent in ever so slightly, causing them to catch before they could be pressed into place. I simply put a 1x1 plate with a slope (commonly used in a number of sets, and they always send spares) to push the corners out and into place as you press the piece down. This train, even as a build from a single set, looks really good going around the track. You won't be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Train Ever! From the high detail, to the high speeds, who wouldn't want this train? I love this. As my first motorized train, it was quite a joy to get it started! It went down the train tracks so softly, you could barely tell it was on tracks! The speed was oh so fast, that my normal motorized train that goes under my tree would lose in a race! then it looks so beautiful! Oh, your Lego collection is nothing without this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power Functions High-Speed Passenger Train This is my second Power Functions train, and while the first, the Emerald Knight is a work of beauty, it's also heavy and in dealing with curves and the slope to my Lego modular Main Street, it was struggling, so I decided to give this model a try. Quite lighter and much faster, this train goes around corners and up the slope in my track with no hesitation at all. It was a straight-forward build and while not many interior details, I find the Power Functions integration to look excellent and though the "nose cones" of each of the two cars are definitely above average size for a LEGO element, I personally am very fond of the streamline look they give the train. Regarding the problems others have had with the two 1x3 orange tiles, I rotated them 90 degrees, with one hanging over on the right and the other on the left and have had no problems with turns. I already have an existing LEGO train station, so I simply used the level crossing and signs included in this set and put the other parts unused into my parts box. I attempted to include a spare seat as often used in other trains, but the chair element is a touch larger than a 2x2 brick element, so putting one into the area where the conductor sits was not possible, or at least not without some heavy mods I didn't wish to bother with. I did notice that it took some effort to get the "nosecone assembly" together, but working with it here and there I was able to get them fully attached without worrying about breaking anything. I also like the aspect of how you can see from the top the LED light if it's on or off and how nicely and cleanly the power button to turn the engine on and off looks. Accessing the battery box (I prefer to use rechargeable batteries) takes a little bit of effort, but the battery box won't be coming out accidentally! Sure, it would be nice if the interior had more details, but since this train comes complete with Power Functions (You do need to supply your own batteries, FYI) it's ready to roll, so more details would increase the price. A well designed and solid LEGO train model, a fast and sleek model, should fit well in many LEGO City (Or long distances from city to city) settings. It's not as fancy as the Emerald Night or Horizon Express, but it's much lighter and faster and able to take on tracks (with minor mods two the two orange tiles) with very little trouble.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Train Enthusiasts My 5 year old son is a train enthusiast, and asked for this train because it reminds him of the high speed trains he saw in Germany. He loves this set. He built it mostly himself in a day or so. My one issue is with the remote being infrared, you must point it directly at the sensor. The signal is quite weak and it's difficult to point the remote at the train as it is going around the track, which makes stopping and increasing the speed tricky. We have rarely been able to get it up to top speed, and the problem persists with new batteries. Perhaps we got a dud?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Speed Passenger Train This train is high speed as the title states! It was a great build and I enjoy playing with it to date. The only thing that's necessary is more track. With more track you can see the full abilities of this train enlightened. Love it :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and goes great This is my first train I have bought, and it makes me want to expand my collection, I bought it for my 3 year old son who plays with it everyday, putting passengers on in the train and the occasional animal on the top, he picked up the remote controls straight away, controlling its speed and stopping range to stop it in the station. The only down side is it will easily derail if too fast, and can be a hands and knees job to get back in line. Overall, once you learn its limits its an amazing little thing! It does use a lot of AAA batteries so be prepared to get shares in Duracel ;)
