LEGO® Creator Expert® - Palace Cinema (10232) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 143.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Most beautiful modular of them all There are ony a few things that could have been better: The back of the roof is not finished. Specialy the middle high part is open at the back, that's just ugly! You can fix it with only 4 parts, but in a set like this you shoudn't have to...) The limo is pretty poor, don't like it at all. The wheels are way to smal for the body and it can only fit 2 minifigs. Personaly I would have put in one more row of seats. WHY are there only 6 minifigs in this big "rare" creator set? There are much cheaper sets from Star Wars that have way more "special" minifigs. This set needed at least 10-15 minifigs included! It's the most empty cinema in the history of lego :) There were 2 small parts missing : the projector light and a limo windshield. But I'm sure that Lego will send me those later on :) The things I realy like about the set: It's the most beautiful modular creator set of them all! I love the detais, like: the sign "palace" is very good engineerd. The retro spotlights are realy cool. The building lights on the outside. The retro cinemascreen (black and with and the upholstery around it. The overall stile of the building, I just love that asian style roof. The "broadwak" stars in the tiles are perfect! Thank you Lego! :p

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Guaranteed Good Value, An Oriental Cinema! This oriental cinema is a perfect addition to any collection needing a lavish, big-ticket style building! There are a few insufficient parts of this set in my opinion, but they do not hinder the great quality this set has to offer. The main faults I've noticed that this set has is, first of all, the stickers. Normally, modular buildings do not have stickers, and I'm fine with that because stickers are tedious and don't add too much to the building experience, but this set does have stickers. I'm not to unhappy with that though, since printed elements (which this set has a few of) are more expensive and would make this set unnecessarily that much more expensive. Other than that, there is not much more to criticize with this set, the only other big downfall in my opinion is the lack of workers at the cinema, at least 3 workers are needed to properly run the cinema, and the set only comes with one. Also, I would have preferred that the curved brown window frames have a glass panel inside, but that piece (at this particular moment) does not exist, so no biggie. None of these affect the quality very much, which is why I've rated it as a 5 star set. Now that the cons are out of the way, there are quite a bit of positive parts of this set. the building experience is simply amazing. I absolutely loved building this set, the highlights of this experience included the concession stand (especially the great usage of parts, such as placing the round, glass-covered candy tray between two diagonal studs; pretty clever detail). The limousine was fun to build, although it wasn't quite as fun as the spotlights, which are a great addition to the set and, like the limo, really add to the exciting mood the set gives. The "Palace" sign was really fun to build as well, and the light blue contrasts with the dark red roof quite well. This set provides amazing elements, the red base-plate looks fantastic and it enhances the epicness the Palace Cinema has. The dark colors and round brick elements used for the shingles also give the set a beautiful look and match the oriental style seamlessly, and the gold element give the cinema a rich luster that makes it feel more even more exciting! The price for this building is fantastic, it has over 2,000 pieces, and it seems that you get more than what you pay for, which is common for the modular building series. The play experience is really good too, the only problems when it comes to that is that only one movie is able to be viewed and that if you want to fill up the screening room with additional mini-figures you'd have to add more seats. Despite this, I really enjoy playing with this set, and if you have other modular buildings it is great to connect them to the Palace Cinema, not only because it is a corner building and can take your street in a new direction, but because it looks great with the other buildings in addition to being in it's own display. The Palace Cinema has a superb building experience, price, and playability, and I can guarantee that it definitely adds a lot to any Lego city and / or collection. I hope you enjoyed this review and that it encouraged you to consider getting this set if you haven't already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't hurry be happy I have twin sons that 9 yrs old, I reignited my love of Lego’s when they were about 3 starting with Duplo and moving up from there. They are now both very creative builders and spend hours with Legos. We got them both a Creator set for Christmas (to help them build) and it was a blast, they both had one already. They now have all four of the available sets (cinema, restaurant, bank, detective’s office). I have enjoyed helping them build all four of them, watching them play with them, modifying them and then returning them all back to original. If you have a child that spends as much time as they can playing with legos and building some of the smaller sets on their own I would strongly recommend the purchase. Keep in mind that patience is key and that building is the fun for the parents, sorting and playing is the fun for the kids. Depending on the ability of your builder you will have to decide, but if they love to build and sort you can make a day, weekend or even week of it. Don’t try to hurry, always sort the pieces by steps before you start and then make sure you sort the pieces for each page as you go. It can be easy to get distracted and walk away only to find out 8 pages later you missed something…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Model The largest set I've ever built and certainly the most imposing structure. I would typically stick to older models from the 80's and 90's so this, apart from the odd Star Wars model, was my first real jump into large modern Lego sets. The size of the box and the sheer number of bags inside was certainly intimidating but I found quickly enough that even without colour-sorting, it wasn't a difficult set to complete. Most of the difficulty came from repetitive actions and ensuring accuracy. The instructions were quite straightforward and easy to follow. The initial building of each floor begins slowly but once it begins to take shape, the satisfaction is immense especially when it came to the finished touches on each floor. While my heart still belongs to older sets, this will not be my last foray into large-scale Creator and modular sets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful I'm an eleven year old boy, and I was very excited to receive the Palace Cinema for Christmas. I already have two other Modular sets. It was an easy project to build. It looks so realistic and it's very beautiful. One of the best things are the stickers, they are great! It has lots of detail on the outside but not very much in the inside. On the second floor it has the actual cinema it has lovely seats and the screen is very nice too. I had a great time making it and really recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well thought of set A family member bought this set for me to add to my collection. As I enjoy sets with over a 1000 pieces. This one was a good one. Not too challenging and was only missing five pieces. I would recommend this set to those that are experienced or those that like a challenge.
