LEGO® Friends - Amusement Park Hot Dog Van (41129) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly fantastic! I love this set! It's such a bizarre idea for a LEGO set, a giant hotdog on wheels but the execution is perfect! I adore this van! It's great to see hot dog buns be introduced finally too. The awning really sets the location of the set and it somehow makes a giant hotdog on wheels realistic. I love the addition of lights underneath too! I think the cash register should've been facing in, but that's only a nitpick. The counter for the hot dog area is large and long, so you can add a condiment to your hotdog while another mini doll orders. The counter of the van is also low down, I know a few people who hated the LEGO Movie's ice cream truck for having a counter so high up. I'm not fond of the bottom floor of the van its kind of a mitch match of colours, though it's not really noticeable from the outside, but when your cooking some of the sausages you'll notice! The grill itself is really simple though I don't think an intricate build was necessary either. The seats inside the van are white, which fit fine in my opinion. There isn't a door to the van just a ladder that can be lowered down to allow a passenger or "chef" in. Speaking of the ladder it leads up to the roof, which looks like a tiny little diner. I adore the side builds too. The hot dog sign isn't really a build, but it is still nice and I love the use of neon lights. The chairs are also really simple, but upside down building is such a joy for me. :P The mirror is also nice, I like how it's applied onto a curved brick. If your like me and your not good at applying stickers, here it looks better if the mirror is crooked..funhouse mirrors! The camera is an okay build, I'm not sure about those colours. I do like how it's an old school camera and they didn't just use a phone. I love the sticker for the photo, it's fantastic! The carnival cut out is so simple, but so effective! You just put your mini dolls on the studs behind the wall and have them face the camera. These carnival cut outs are really common in real life, so it's a treat to finally get one in LEGO. I know the build is nearly non existent but the sticker is just so darn perfect! I love the use of a sailor and a mermaid as now it can work on beach or peer related MOCs too! I can't get enough of this and I'm sixteen!, I can only imagine what the kids who play with this are thinking! I really like the mini dolls in this set. It's the only amusement park set with interesting figures. Stephanie's head, hair and legs are not new. Her legs are now dual moulded! Strangely Nate's aren't, it's weird that they're making around half of the mini doll leg pieces dual moulded and leaving the rest even the new ones. I love how they brought back her sun visor piece, I'm sick of the gang's regular hair at this point. :P It would've been great to see the visor be recoloured but we can't have everything. I really like her employee torso, it's simplistic but still unique. Nate is basically Noah with a different hairpiece and new legs. The new trouser mould features pockets at the ankles and on the bottom. I'm not sure what the purpose of ankle pockets are, but then again my skirts don't have pockets so I don't use pockets in general. :P The hot dog suit is a lovely inclusion, but unfortunately it doesn't fit around Nate's mouth. There is somewhat a benefit to this as you can exaggerate how it's hard to speak and breath in those heavy suits. It is strange there's no customer, but I guess Nate can double up. The hot dog suit is really just a bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Friends Set Never really considered the Friends line but couldn't help notice this Hot Dog Cart would be an awesome addition to my little town. The set has quite a few cool elements that make it well worth the money even if Friends isn't your kind of thing. First things first - the Hot Dog Cart looks fantastic upon completion. The buns look great and the hot dog itself attaches seamlessly to the large windscreens. I'm not a huge fan of the color palett including a purple and red awning or teal counter tops so I swapped in some white and gray pieces and was really happy with the results. Blends in really well now whereas the over the top colors before wouldn't have fit. Another huuuge feature of the set is the inclusion of the Hot Dog Guy costume originally seen in the Seires 13 minifigure packs. I never found him when they were released so the opportunity to get such a great figure along with the cart was fantastic. There's a cool mirror sticker as well worth mentioning and overall there's a lot of value in this set. Despite the Friends color scheme and design, I believe the overall concept of the Hot Dog Cart is more fun and creative than anything from the recent City or Creator lines. Well worth the buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Dog on Wheels I was so happy, after seeing the webisode with the hot dog suits that LEGO made this lovely set. Seeing Nate was AMAZING and I'm going to move on to the subject of boys in LEGO Friend sets. I love LEGO Friends. They depict real life, in well, LEGO's. But- yes, I know it's mainly for girls- why aren't there any boys? When I shop for sets, I look for sets with LEGO Friends boys, because it makes play more interesting. I also noticed, that LEGO Friends boys, don't seem like there was as much effort put into them. But now, to the set. It was an amazing set. Cute, perky, funny, and...delicious looking. The eating area on the top was adorable. I also enjoyed the mirror, and the picture area thingie majiger. I recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Dog on Wheels There was a time when i hated Friends. When the series came out i thought they where just silly. But as time has gone on, i have done a 180 and now i love them. After Modular and Superheroes it's Friends. So when i saw this set i had to have it. It's a small set, but it adds character to your city far above it's weight. The build is fast and easy, but when it all comes togheter it's a great set, actually looks larger then i thought it would. If you are working on a ammusementpark, or just want a fast food joint it's great. I hope we see more of the hot dog buns, great looking peices. There are 3 cons i can think of. The counter is very high, i mean it's at headgight for the dolls, not sure they would actually reach the dogs. Same with the chairs, they almost need a ladder themselfs. And worst, the stickers. But i supose if it wasent for them the price would be higher, so.... But despite those minor flaws i say, great set. I would highly recomend it. One addition i would make, a trailer to stack all the extra stuff for transport. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun truck. "If every pork chop was perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs." This set was fun to put together and I like it enough that I'll keep in "on display" in my home. I don't care for the impossibly skinny Friends doll figures, so I replaced them with the pigs in the 75824 Pig City Teardown set which also has a hot dog stand. I'm looking forward to seeing how MOC architecture builders will use the new hot dog bun piece. This set has at least six stickers, and one in particular that is a whole 6x4 panel big and difficult to put on straight. I don't like putting the stickers on, and they NEVER age well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Digitty Doggity Yumtastic OmNomNomNom NOM!!! So Much Hot Dog NOM!!! My daughter was pretend eating EVERYTHING!!! LOL HAHahahah Funny Monkey. This goes Fabulous with that roller coaster set. We have a veritable carnival in our home day in and out all week long never ending. It's pretty ridiculously cute. And of COURSE we had to get this! With ALL those extra hot dogs that came with all our various other lego sets. We have TONS of misc hotdogs laying around with no homes. Now they can all sit on the grill where they properly belong being cooked waiting for carnival goers to come along and need to be fed. However we may need more "buns" now. Hahhahaha
