Ratings & Reviews+

LEGO LEGO Creator - Bike Shop & Café (31026) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great New Product The idea of having a town with shops and services like the Modular Series but for a much less expensive cost appealed to me. This set pairs nicely with the recently-released Toy & Grocery Shop to create a smaller feel to a Modular town. A relatively simple build for an experienced builder and a good challenge for the novice builder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bike Shop and Café I've had my eye on the Bike Shop & Café for a while now and last weekend I realized that the set was on sale. A few days later I managed to purchase one. I just had to start building the set the moment I got home, and I wasn't disappointed! What a great set this is! Firstly, I noticed that the bags were not numbered - which is what I'm used to. The set is not easy for a novice Lego builder like myself and I guess a nine-year-old might struggle with some parts of the build, too, especially finding the right bricks from the heap of 1023 pieces. Secondly, I noticed the vast number of windows and doors included in the set - the frames alone come in three different colors! What an opportunity to pilfer both the windows and doors from this set and create one's own building! Thirdly, I noticed the roof tiles (dark blue and dark red) which are quite rare. Actually, the dark red 2 x 2 x 2 roof tiles are currently available only in this particular set. The set includes three minifigures (two men and a woman) and a number of mini-builds (a car, a bird, a barbecue, and a bed, just to mention a few) which are really fun to put together. There are two instruction booklets for the Bike Shop & Café, and two more for the alternative buildings one can complete using the same bricks. If one follows the instructions to a tee, the first booklet is for the bike shop (including the yellow car) and the second booklet is for the café. The play features of the set are numerous, my personal favorite is probably the ATM / cash point. When completed, the set looks simply spectacular, both opened up and closed down. Both of the buildings have highly detailed facades and backyards and I think the Bike Shop & Café would look great even when placed among the more expensive modular buildings (such as the Pet Shop or Palace Cinema). In my opinion, only the scale is smaller, the details of the buildings are nearly equal to those in the modular series. As some reviewers have pointed out, this set would certainly be a good buy for a child (or an adult!) who wants to gather more experience before starting the expert level builds. The only complaints I have about this set are few and insignificant. Firstly, I never seem to get the rear wheel of the standard Lego bicycle in place without breaking out in sweat. Is there a trick to attaching the rear wheel to the bicycle frame? I'd be glad to hear it if there was. Secondly, I can't get the café section of the build to close as tightly as the bike shop does. Thirdly, the coffee machine covers up half of two of the café's windows which looks a bit quirky. Fourthly, I must be a simpleton because I seem to have an extra dark red 1x2 plate (which I shouldn't have) and I can't figure out where I've made the mistake of leaving it out! Please, send me a new brain asap!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good kit. This kit is definitely worth the money. The details are also great on this kit, and the fact that you can separate them is really cool. It is really easy to play and look inside by opening the buildings up. It will add a perfect addition for a city or town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Invites imagination My 7-year-old son enjoyed building this set very much. He liked looking at the box and then at the progress he was making - it inspired him to keep going even when his attention span told him there were other things he could be doing. Once complete, the minifigs took over. They bought coffee, had their bike repaired, spent time in the apartments and on the roof. The little bird has been quite busy too, landing here and there as my little man sees fit. It has been a great set for him!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great set, great value. This set was a lot of fun to build. It reminded me of the larger modulars but at a smaller scale. The level of detail on the buildings was very well done and well thought out. I like that each building is its own build and you are able to combine or keep as two builds. I also appreciated the car that came with the set, nice addition. I would say that this set is a great starter set for anyone looking to get into the larger modulars and its also a great set to add to any Lego city. I cant wait to see what other sets are released that are in line with this one.
