LEGO® Star Wars™ - Rey's Speeder (75099) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 71.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rey's Speeder Great set! I got this set this morning, while I was looking for Minifigures Series 14. I love all of the details, and it has great play features. Rey is a very cool Minifigure, and has a very unique mask piece, which is very cool. I love how this set comes with a golden crowbar, I believe it is the first set to come with one in that colour. Overall, I love this set. Now, for the pros and cons. Pros: Great Minifigures Easy build Realistic to the movie Good accessories Plenty of extra pieces Not many stickers (I am not very good at placing them) Cons: Should come with at least one more Minifigure A vehicle of sorts for the Thug would be nice, but isn't that big of a deal I am going to try to get the First Order Snowspeeder next, or Poe's X Wing. In the end, I would say this is worth the money, and I am happy I have it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rey of light I found this a really enjoying and satisfying build. The mechanism for opening the side cargo doors was a fun inclusion and all the tools and gadgets for the mini-figure (together with the two blaster firing mechanisms) give it a great play factor. My only real criticism/observation is that it would have been nice if the cargo compartment was big enough to store Rey's hair in when she has her head-gear/goggles on (or vice versa) to prevent it from getting lost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rey's Jakku Speeder This set is really nice and a good way to start off your Force Awakens Lego collection. Albeit it's quite small it's design is good and you get two amazing minifigures. The build is quite easy and you get a good selection of parts in dark red which is a very movie accurate colour. The design is similar to the film but it would have been nice if Rey's scavenging net had been included. Also the stud shooters on the side are a fun addition but I think they detract from the overall shape of the speeder. If you turn the speeder on it's side then it's shape is actually quite similar to Luke's land speeder. There are some stickers to apply but they do add to the detail of the speeder. A fun feature is that when you twist the bottom engine, the side of the speeder opens, revealing a storage compartment inside. On the outside of the speeder are scavenging supplies for Rey - a blaster, a pair of binoculars and a saw. The two minifigures included are both movie accurate and the attention to detail in their printing is amazing! Rey comes in her simple Jakku outfit with her stick and shoulder bag. Rey's triple bun hairpiece is a new piece and is completely movie accurate. Her scavenging mask is just like the movie although it does seem a bit oversized. If you've seen the film then you'll know who Unkar's thug is and why he's included in this set. Again amazing detail and a gold crowbar is quite unusual. This set is really good and although it's small and not entirely movie accurate, I think it is worth having in any Force Awakens Lego collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Set to Start With Background: I am a long time Lego fan but, I have been out of the game for about 15 years and, this was the first set I have bought since the early 2000's. I bought this because my inner star wars/lego nerd wouldn't let me go any longer and my wife finally gave up trying to stop me from spending all of our money. The force is strong with TFA. I was initially a bit anxious about this purchase but, after the build, Lego has won adult me over and I have since dove into the deep end on SW Lego. This set has a couple of great things going for it. First, it's very accurate compared with what you see on the big screen. I love the dark red color of most of the pieces and from what I have seen, they are pretty hard to come by outside of the UCS Slave 1 set that came out earlier this year. There were a lot of pieces that were new to me (but probably not that new since I haven't built in forever) which I loved and thought the design of each was impeccable. I also really enjoy how almost every set these days incorporates some kind of Technic mechanism, even if it is relatively minor, I think it's great! Second, the Mini Figures: I read some other reviews that said they "wished there were more" and while I feel the same way, I think what is provided is more than sufficient, especially considering that Rey is a full print (legs and torso) new figure that comes with a new hair piece (the triple bun), a new helmet piece, and a messenger style bag along with a slew of other accessories ( saw, binoculars, staff, blasters etc.) Unkar's Thug is also a totally new figure with a pretty cool hood and staff that I haven't seen previously, I DO wish that they just gave us Unkar Plutt himself ( he would be a really cool minifig IMO), but I still think the thug is acceptable and collectible. Finally, Play-ability: I personally am more of a "Lord Business" kind of guy, especially since I have an infant at home, but, I did briefly "play" with the set after building it. I really enjoyed the "blaster" pieces, which are new to me, I wish there was something like that when I was a kid. A lot of modern builders prefer the "Shooter" pieces like the ones on the First Order Tie Fighter (75101) but, I don't think those would work on a set like this. The blasters are pretty powerful and I found myself on my hands and knees trying to find the little red blasts. The speeder also opens on both sides exposing a cargo area with a little box in it which is great. It is easily opened thanks to the aforementioned Technic mechanism and adds that little bit more action that makes this a great set. Overall: 10/10 I wish there were more sets of this quality at this price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rey's Speeder = Great Purchase!:) I bought this Lego set several days ago, and I am very happy with the way it turned out. It is a great model, and it resembles the one from the movie very well. It has great playing features (including the opening side hatches to store the crate), and the minifigures are great! Rey has very nice detail, and Unkar's Thug looks really good, too. If anyone is thinking about buying this set, I have to give it a solid 8/10 (which is exceptionally good in my opinion). The reason I didn't give it a 10/10 is because of two minor aspects: 1. There are a lot of stickers to add onto various pieces in the set (and personally, I am terrible with stickers). 2. I wish it had come with 1 more minifigure, maybe even BB-8. But again, these are just a couple of minor problems I had with it, but no matter what, this is a great buy, and is very well worth $20. To sum it all up... Pros: Great Playing Features Fantastic Design Awesome Minifigures Fairly Cheap (especially compared to the other Star Wars: TFA sets) Cons: A Lot of Stickers Possibility of +1 Minifigure Thanks for reading this, everyone!:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rey's Speeder is a great little set. It may look small but it is packed with plenty of detail and features for its relatively low pricepoint. You get 193 pieces consisting of many dark red bricks, black bricks, and light grey bricks. A new brick, 2x4 Plate with Technic Holes, is included. I hope to see it used more often, as it's very convenient to have. Other interesting pieces include the 1x1 dark blue transparent studs, the dark grey spoiler pieces, and all of the sloped dark red pieces. Two minifigures are included: Rey and Unkar's Thug. Rey is one of the main characters of the film, so it it nice to have her in such a cheap set. She comes with plenty of accessories, such as a sawblade, pistol, viewfinders, knapsack, and head wrap. Her printing is nice and detailed, very accurate to what is seen on screen. Unkar's Thug is also very nicely detailed, with a dark grey metallic head to boot. He is equipped with a gold crowbar piece that looks very nice when he's holding it. The set itself is about 5.5 inches long when assembled. Turning the bottom rear engine either way opens up the side compartments using a clever mechanism that I had fun putting together. The cargo hold inside has not much room, as it is meant to only hold the included cargo bin, but it is also suitable for storing Rey's knapsack and headpiece when not in use. The side doors have clips for holding various accessories. Directly under the cargo hold are two stud shooters, which are very stable and do not fire off under light pressure unlike the spring-loaded missiles seen in other sets. They blend in fairly well with the rest of the vehicle, although when viewed from the front they look a little out of place. Pros: -Color Scheme -Minifigures -Abundance of Accessories -Great for Display -Excellent price -Excellent detail -Excellent play features Notes/Nitpicks: -Upper engine should not morph into the pilot's seat as seen in the set. In the movie, the engine has a full fuselage and the pilot's seat rests above it. -Stud shooters look out of place when viewed from the front. -Cargo hold is very small -The front part of the vehicle with the vents does not flush too well into the top part of the vehicle with the windshield, and there is an out-of-place depression on both sides in front of the cargo doors. The actual ship does not have this. This is understandable however, as it would be very difficult to fix these issues without compromising the main play feature of the set, which is far more valuable than the aforementioned problems.
