LEGO® Star Wars™ - Sandcrawler™ (75059) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Why Would Storm Troopers want to slaughter Jawas? This set promises to endure the test of time as a UCS set. The Build is super fun, lots of iconic minifigures and great Attention was spent on detail designing it....much appreciated! I took my time and just enjoyed the process of building so I took a couple days to build and make some minor upgrades....although I'm waiting on some LED lighting parts to add to this Epic Set. I've heard split opinions on its playability vs. display appeal and I can honestly say yeah...if you completely redesign this thing and use an additional 2,000 pieces to incorporate SNOT technic and boost it to " minifigure" scale" ..sure you got a better sand crawler, however, at the Pricepoint Lego gave us and the extreme detail and thought that went into this I'm very happy as is. The only thing I actually improved on this set was the Sparse cockpit build...and borrowed some nice brown pieces from my Lord of the Rings "goblin King set":) Overall it's a great display piece and fully worthy of a UCS label...and would definitely reccomend this set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Set, But Why No Plaque? First I want to say that I love the huge Lego sets. Ultimate Collector sets to me are always the best, and one of the things I appreciate about the UC sets is the info plaque that comes with them. The plaques really add to the display value. And herein lies my gripe with this set. I realize this set does not have a stand, but next to my other UC sets it just looks incomplete without its own. I just don't understand why they wouldn't have given this set one. That aside, the set itself looks fantastic. I do wish it were slightly larger, but the thing still looks amazing. Also, there is so much play value with this set. The cranes and ramps are great. One last thing, the instruction manual is great. It has a lot of info on the Sandcrawler and other facts you don't normally see in instruction manuals. But, as cool as all the info is, I'd still rather have that plaque. C'mon Lego, release the plaque as an aftermarket purchase or something. I know I'm not the only person missing it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gruelling, Challenging but something is missing... What can I say? For a start this was the most difficult set I have built. For a number of reasons. 1. Lots of difficult Technic building techniques 3. Lots of parts! 2. Lots of brown and lots of small fiddly bits to test your attention span. Ultimately the build got a bit tedious towards the end but it is amazing how this thing comes together and it is a lot of fun to begin with. After about halfway I wanted to get it finished and on display my head hurt! Once I had it on display I was a little underwhelmed. I loved the Sandcrawler in the films but I was worried it would look a bit dull in Lego. I might be right but I haven't made my final decision. To summarise Pros 1. The minifigures and droids are cool 2. The techniques used to form the shape 3. Value for money and length of build 4. Solid build I would let my 6 year old nephew play with this set and there are some good play features he will enjoy. Cons 1. Final model looks a bit boring its just a brown box (stating the obvious here but I was expecting it to have something about it that i am just not getting) 2. Tedious in places but I don't think it could of been made any more interesting build wise. 3. Stickers some of them just look really bad I'm not even sure what they are meant to be so I just left them off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a tremendous build First, this isn't a toy for your child to move about with reckless abandon let alone build. In my opinion this kit is purely iconic and a build for a pure, older Star Wars enthusiast. So to begin make certain when putting the pieces (legos) in place you have the orientation correct otherwise you'll be taking the pieces apart which is not your goal by any means. Make certain when backtracking to fix a mistake you don't disorient yourself in putting pieces back together and ultimately loosing your place. It goes really without saying... but make certain the pieces are connected together tight. You need good lighting and large smooth surface. My wife is the lego builder. I help on occasion. There were a couple occasions with this build. My wife has built over fifty Star Wars Legos she particularly liked the tracks and the design of this build. We do have a lot of saved boxes and more to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Detailed, Sturdy and Multipurpose This is probably one of the more expensive sets, even for UCS yet it is certainly worth the money. The build took me a while as I`m not the fastest ever builder but it was a fun one. It was great to see how lego have managed to make rigid and sturdy framework out of technic piece. One part of the build I remember was when I had to tip the Sandcrawler onto it`s side to attach the treads to the bottom and how the structure was quite able to take that. My first slight problem with the build was building the moving side panels to the Sandcrawler as it was a bit repetitive, although due to the design of the Sandcrawler it is unavoidable. My second problem was to do with the instructions, during the brown on brown parts of the build it was sometimes difficult to distinguish what needed to be put on. In terms of playability it is quite good for a UCS set as you can use all the cranes to move the droids around and move the droids in and out of the Sandcrawler. The different grips and claws can bee fitted to the two cranes and these can actually pick up all the droids which is fun if you are getting the jawas to pack up the Sandcrawler. The Sandcrawler also isn`t so heavy as to not be able to pick it up either as I have been able to relocate it multiple times around the house. I have also used the Sandcrawler as an effective music stand as if the front ramp is lowered you can place the music on the edge of the ramp in a small slot. Using the knob at the back you can then adjust the height of the music. Overall the Sandcrawler is a great set to add to any collection and can fill any empty shelf and hold around three sheets of paper for the musicians looking to kill two birds with one stone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Jawas Hideout Over the years I have purchased many star wars sets, the imperial star destroyer (2014), AT- AT(2014), the old slave one, and many more. this one was the one that I most look forward to my collection of Legos. It has a lot of functions! Including: opening side panels, speeder, lots of droids and exclusive minifigures, grabbing hooks, opening roof, "droid cells", huge turning treads, and opening cockpit. Also some friendly four jawas. What more could you want!!! I would highly recommend this set to any star wars fan!!
