Ratings & Reviews+

LEGO Super Heroes - Black Manta Deep Sea Strike (76027) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black Manta Deep Sea Strike An Incredible set. When I saw this, I was completely shocked. Figs first. Batman is his new variant with new cowl and design, which I very much like, you can see my full analysis in my review for Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas. Aquaman is the same as before, still awesome. Robin is in his scuba suit, which is super awesome, it has great printing and design. Black Manta is the prize jewel though. Lego has really done an excellent job. His head is amazing. The 2 subs are equally awesome as well. Black Mantas has a nice manta ray shape, with glow in the dark bricks. The Bat sub is my favorite. It has a nice look to it and has great features. The Atlantean structure looks like it is in ruins, and is really cool. The feature is cool, but I would avoid placing figures on the super jumper. They damage the fig. Overall, amazing set. Attention: Lego fans, starting May 2015, Lego will be releasing a line of Jurassic World sets inspired by the upcoming film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep Sea Strike! This set really exceeded my expectations. First of all, the cost of the set is a little high, but I think it is still worth it because of what it has to offer. The minifigures: The minifigs have to be the best part of the set. It includes Batman, Aquaman, Black Manta, and "Scuba" Robin. I was really glad to get Aquaman because unfortunately I missed out on getting him when he first came out. Batman is a really nice figure, but my only complaint is that because of the black head piece, the printed facial expressing is very pale. The other side of his head, however, had his diving gear, which looks very cool. Scuba robin is a well-designed figure, and I like that LEGO chose to make the flippers plastic instead of rubber. The Black Manta figure is absolutely amazing. Exclusive to this set, he has excellent torso printing and a really good-looking head piece, with no minifig head underneath. Other than Batman's face being pale, I think these minifigures are absolutely phenomenal. Under-water Structure: This unusual structure is, I'm guessing, part of Atlantis. I could be wrong, but let's get into the build itself. It is intended to hold scuba Robin captive, dangling from the crest of the building. Of course, this involves a play feature. When hit, the top of the building falls back, freeing Robin from his unlikely prison. There is also a locking feature, so it is not falling over constantly. Overall it is a nice build and contributes greatly to the underwater-themed set. The Bat-Sub: The Bat-Sub is, I have to say, weird. Though being weird, it makes sense that Batman would have it because, let's admit it, he has everything. It has two flick-fire missiles and a detachable underwater scooter for Robin. I think the strongest thing about it is that it looks really good and is great for play value. Finally, the Manta Sub Black Manta's submarine is the highlight of this set (Except for the minifigs, of course!) It is highly detailed and has very vibrant shades of red and orange on it. i really like the design of the ship because of the Manta-ray like wings of either side. it has two stud-shooter missiles of the front and contains glow in the dark pieces. Additionally, there is lots of space in the cockpit for minifigures to sit in. Last, and possibly least, the Robo-Shark. When I say least for this guy, I don't mean it's bad. It is actually a quite cool idea and had a somewhat play feature. On the shark's sides, there are two more missiles that can be loaded into the stud-shooters on Black Manta's sub. overall another good thing about this set. In conclusion, I'd say that this is one of the best DC lego set I have ever purchased. With great minifigures, great builds, and amazing play features, this is a must-have for any DC fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally...Black Manta This is one of the best sets in the DC line up. I have Aquaman from 2013 Mr Freeze set but I am glad to get a 2nd. Aquaman Same decal as 2013 Aquaman but still a core member of JL. Batman (scuba) A bit lame as only minor differences from Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas. Lego should have changed the torso printing like they did with Robin to give a more (scuba look) . Robin (scuba) This is a decent minifig as he has impressive decal on both torso and legs. A way better scuba look than Batman. But I am slightly disappointed that he is only in the set to be a captive of Black Manta. BLACK MANTA Black Manta is just plain epic. There are no cons for this minifig except lots of people want to find out whether he has a head or not. The answer is he does not. For you who are reading this now this may be an issue for you but I am fine with that. I understand that Lego wanted a change not just a minifig head so I am fine with that. Bat-sub An alright vehicle. Nice cockpit and good range of bricks. Another Bat vehicle to add to collectors collection. Atlantian Rock piece Not much to say about this. Good playability and good at capturing Robin. Black Manta Sea Saucer An epic vehicle with nice features. Another nice cockpit. Sum up One of the best sets in the DC line up. Also there is Black Manta's Scuba Shark included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the bunch The minifigures: Batman- This Batman comes with two faces, one for land and one for underwater so he can be used for anything and he has a new but certainly not exclusive torso print. Robin- Comes with a new armored torso print and a reverse print on his head so he can go underwater. Kinda disappointed he was put in the set to only be a hostage but it's better then nothing. Aquaman- Still the same figure, still the same part of his yellow belt that got printed as orange, still the same silly hairpiece. Black Manta- Love his helmet but with the eyes of it covered the whole surface they're printed on, other then that minor misstep he looks great, especially the helmet. My third favorite minifig of the Justice League sets that have been released. The builds: The sunken arch:It's kind of a one trick pony and despite my not liking the victimization of Robin it does its trick well. Black Manta's Sub- I LOVE it, it has a great 90's UFO series look to it that looks great from the tip of the wings to the cockpit but I wish it had more of a tail to it, the back's kinda small. The Batsub- Finely Batman seems relevant in a Justice League set and I LOVE it. He's the only one that makes sense to be down there fighting at Aquaman's side and the sub's design is great and unique, a wonderful addition to my collection of bat-vehicles. Easily my favorite of the Justice League line so far, it was the one set that I felt did no wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy underwater adventure Batman! This is the first set to include a Black Manta figure. He comes with a vehicle in the shape of a manta ray which has 2 stud shooters that fire glow-in-the-dark missiles. There is also a black and gray roboshark with 2 glow-in-the-dark missiles. Batman comes with a submarine that includes a pair of flick fire missiles and also a mini drone sub. Aquaman has his trident and also the new super jumper piece that was released this year. He can save Scuba Robin by lowering the hinged piece at the top of the sunken temple ruins. Robin is new with a double-sided head and different diving suit. There are 387 in this $40 set. I'd recommend it to anyone that enjoys Batman or Aquaman. It was fun to build and has lots of interesting pieces. The manta ray vehicle is different from any other set I've ever built.
