LEGO® Super Heroes - The SHIELD Helicarrier (76042) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase This is one of my favourite purchases. I didn't expect it to be so big!! It took me a whole day to put together. The only challenge is to sometimes having to figure out in the instruction manual if I need to use the light grey, dark grey or the black. I would recommend this set without hesitation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fun for Granddaughter and myself Bought this for a gift to myself. I watch the Avengers on TV and thought this would be fun to build and display. My 7 year old Granddaughter helped me with it when she was visiting. It is very intricate and time consuming, but the details are pretty amazing. I bought it with the lights and motor, and they make it come alive. This is the largest Lego I've purchased and I really enjoyed building it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase The down side to this is that it did not include Hulk, Iron Man and Thor - it should have had these since they all were all on the ship. The other down side was that for an Expert set, it should have included the motor, battery and light. Having to order them separately was not good - i am still waiting for the battery which has been OOS for over a month now. By including all I mentioned above, it would have been the VERY BEST SET EVER. Jacking the price up another $30 would have made no difference in the popularity and people would have been happier having all that in the set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Biggest and Best Build Yet I bought this set only as a second choice when the Sandcrawler was retired the day before I went to purchase it. And, boy, am I glad I did. The build was 27 hours spread over 9 days, as I like to savour the enjoyment and is, without a doubt, the most challenging and technical I've had yet. The detail is amazing and the gearing system is a joy to behold, simple but effective. I also bought the power functions for the lights and rotors, but I adapted how I fitted them as I didn't want to have to remove the deck plate every time I wanted to turn them on. My solution was to fit the motor as per the instructions but I then dropped the wires down behind the large starboard hull plate with the 64 numbering. The battery pack can then sit at the rear of the display stand for easier access. This can be done prior to assembling and fitting the hull plate or at the end of the build as the plate is still easily removed and refitted. The end result is staggering in both size and beauty, just make sure you have plenty of room as the finished article measures 32 inches long, 17 inches wide and 11 inches high, including the stand. A few minor quibbles would be the lack of any Iron Man, Thor or Hulk figures in a set which is emblazoned with The Avengers name and logo. Also there is no hull plating at the stern which looks incomplete and there is also a round space in the hull at the stern as if originally there was too be another element, which was then scrapped. I thought maybe it could have housed the chamber used to imprison Loki. Again, these are minor quibbles which in no way detract from a great set

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lego helicarrier not much to do with play, and though i am still a child, i love this set. Great for display, the power functions are very cool, the turbines were the most difficult thing for me to build. The first time i built it was to small, then the other side was perfect, but when i did the back 2 i had to re-build them 3 times because i couldnt seem to get it all lined up. i wish that it had more nano figures, but the 12th bag, which i believe was the last, was the most fun for me to build, just because of all of its fun stuff like the micro fork lift, crates, and cosmetic details. overall out of all of my 53 Lego sets, this is my favorite of the super-hero line. this is the longest any Lego set has taken me, including the death star, mostly because of the turbines and the front two guns that are extremely hard to clip on, yet it was the most fun i have had on a Lego set. Best building experience i have ever had.
