my baby is 5 days old now. I haven't leaked yet, do idk how they'll work for that situation. However, they provide immense comfort for my cracked nipples. My tops can't cause pain due to the silicone protection.

I purchased these because I'm into re-useable products. I have been using them for more than 5 weeks and I LOVE them. They do lose their stickiness but all you have to do is wash them with dish soap or facial cleanser like the instructions say to do and let them air dry. If you put the sticky sides together and pull them apart a couple of times, the stickiness comes right back.
I used to use the disposable absorbant pads but they dried out my already cracked and chapped nipples. With the Lily Pads, I put on a little bit of nipple cream and apply the pad acording to the instructions, making sure there are no air bubbles, and my nipples seem to heal faster. The only time I have ever leaked with them is when I was engorged from going too long without pumping or nursing. As long as you follow the instructions, they're great! I would recommend them!

I LOVE them!

I love Lily Padz! It's so much nicer than shoving bulky nursing pads into your bra. The only caveat is that I wouldn't start using them until after about 6 weeks, when your milk starts to regulate and you're not randomly engorged and letting-down constantly. They create a seal similar to what happens if you put pressure on your nipple when your milk lets down. If the seal is broken, however, they don't absorb anything.

I rinse mine daily with water and let them air dry. Rinsing them makes them sticky again. When putting them on, the trick is to flip them inside out, press the center directly onto your nipple to create a seal and then press the outer edge down.

Love them!

These are a fantasic invention.I loved these. They don't show like diposable pads do, you can wear them with anything and you won't look like you have lumpy breasts. My sister told me about them when we where pregnant together. I had very little milk but hated the soreness that came with disposable breast pads. She had a extreme amount of milk more than I've ever seen and they worked great for her. The only time they leak is if you don't wash them often enough they loose suction and if you don't properly invert the nipple when putting them on, the milk leaks between the breast and the pad and when you take it off it spills. But if you follow the simple instructions they work exactly the way they say. Also they say to replace them I believe it was every three months it's a good idea, the suction doesn't last for ever. For the price every three months still saves you money, also no soreness and no bulge. Great product, would recommend you spend the money to try. You'll wonder why they didn't have these sooner.

Better and more economical than disposables

I have been using these non-stop day and night for 2 months but there are a few things to consider.
1. They don't work well if you are engorged. If you haven't yet had the quantity of your supply level out you might have some leaking. Or if you spend very long periods of time between feedings or pumping. This problem happens more if the tacky surface wears thin. HOWEVER, this is easily overcome by cleaning them well often and pumping or feeding frequently enough to prevent engorgement.
2. They are great but do lose their tacky qualities from the breast milk proteins and build up (milk, lint, and proteins). Washing them in hot water helps but as proteins can build-up as proteins do on soft contacts this does not completely fix it. I have tried many things to clean the build up off them: vinegar (worked but made my breasts smell like vinegar), contact scrub (worked but I think it permanently wore off more of the tacky Lily lining after a few times of using it), various liquid soaps (hand and dish), and last Suave Clarifying Shampoo. The clarifying shampoo seems to work the best. This is only good when you are around a sink (fine for me most of the time).
3. If you are not home or not around a sink and they need cleaned it is troublesome. Lilypadz make Lilywipes but they are not sold around me and Wal-Mart does not carry them, plus they seem too pricy to me. The wipes appear to be lint free wipes wet with rubbing alcohol. I think simply carrying a small bottle of rubbing alcohol in the diaper bag to pour on them, rub and rinse with more of it would work just as well. I haven't tried it though. I'm ordering my second pair to try it.
Last, depending on the brand of disposable pads you would use this may or may not be cheaper. Since I am only comfortable with one brand (I have sensitive skin) it is cheaper.

Liypadz are good...

I'm into reusable items, and thought this would be something I could use for everyday; however when trying them out, I found that prolonged use discourages the ability to easily express milk when the product is removed and encourages moisture entrapment. This product would be ideal for someone who wants to go out for a special evening, and wants to be sure they don't leak milk on their silk dress or other special attire. I wouldn't recommend everyday use.

Good (Special Occasion) Product

I thought this was the answer to my prayers. For the price, I was hoping for more than a temporary fix. The product idea is good in theory but needs improvement. I recommend spending the extra dollars and go with disposables. My LilyPads are sitting in paper towel on a shelf in the medicine cabinet. :-(

Disappointed & desperate

These pads work great to hide your nipples but milk was still able to come out for me and if you do not notice that you are letting down before the milk reaches the edge of the pad it will gush all of the milk it was holding onto your clothes at once. So if you are looking to go strapless or swim and are not producing milk great but they advertise it for stopping milk and it, for me, did not work.
