Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun toy for boys and girls We received this product in the mail a few days ago. I was very excited because my 2 year old daughter loves playing with cars. Currently, Wal-Mart's website in the specifications mentions that this toy is for boys aged 3-5 years, but the box states 1.5 to 5 years and girls could definitely enjoy it too. What's included: Several plastic pieces for the tracks, crane, gas pump, traffic signal, open and closing gate, screws, assembly manual, and two Little People cars. Assembly: Starting with the assembly, it took me about 40 minutes to put it all together. When I opened the box, I was a bit overwhelmed with all the pieces. However, it was relatively easy to put together, just a bit time consuming as there are so many steps and parts. I never had a toy that needed so much assembly, and I made the mistake of letting my 2 year old hang around during assembly. She was so excited that it slowed things down a bit. Maybe the assembly would normally take 30 minutes. I used a drill and screwdriver to speed things up, as there are several screws to secure the pieces to the structure. The instructions were very clear breaking down everything step-by-step with about 44 steps in all. Quality: After assembly was completed, I was delighted that because of all the screws involved and the decently quality of the plastic pieces, the structure was pretty solid and stands at about 3 feet tall. Function: The set includes two "Little People" cars, which you place at the top of the "Skyway" and give a gentle push to get them going. It's just slightly taller at about 3 feet than my daughter, and no problems for her to reach the top. Each car goes easily down the tracks thanks to gravity and the smooth design of the tracks. Along the way down, there are two "switches" which randomize the path of the cars, so the cars can end up coming out of any one of three exit ramps. The Skyway works very well with the included cars, however if you try other types of cars, they won't work well. Other cars will get stuck at the switches due to being the improper size and/or weight. I'm worried if the included two cars get lost as toys tend to do sometimes, we'll definitely have to replace them with other Little People cars. Luckily Wal-Mart sells these as well. Play: As stated earlier, my daughter loves playing with cars (probably unlike other girls). As a result, she loves the Skyway and after about 10 minutes of showing her how it works, she now uses it properly. At first, she was putting the car on random places on the Skyway. Now she knows to put the cars at the top to get the maximum run for the cars. She doesn't really play with the gas pump, traffic light or crane. Maybe if she was older she'd play with those. She always says "woowww" as the cars are going down. The only downsides I could say are as with all toys, I'm sure she'll get tired of this after a while, and this toy really doesn't do much for her development other than to let her have fun. Overall: Time-consuming but easy assembly, great fun for boys and girls who love cars, and solid quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun toy I bought this toy for my son since he seemed to love the stand and play toy that FP LP also offers. He's 20M old, and tries to put cars down the best he can. It's great that it's interchangeable with other little people cars. However, not all cars run as smoothly down the ramp. Some of the bigger wheelies get stuck at the switch points, and some of the cars don't go down well backwards. Overall great toy, and I know my son will enjoy it more the older he gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great toy for my toddler! My son loves it, and there are tons of extra lil wheelie car characters you can buy as well! Surprisingly easy to assemble but took about 20 minutes but I did it myself with just a simple star screw driver!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fast moving, not much opportunity for creativity. First off, I was surprised at how easily this toy was to assemble. I'm a technical writer so I am a real stickler for instruction manuals. Fisher Price did an excellent job of making sure that the instruction booklet was easy to understand. Each of the track pieces is labelled with a set of numbers and all you really need to do is snap the pieces together. Based on the instruction booklet, if you see an arrow symbol, you need to hook the piece in; if you see a "snap" symbol you need to snap the piece into the piece that precedes it. I assembled this in about a half hour - mind you my son was playing with it as I was assembling it - so it probably could have taken a lot less time. You do need a screwdriver to anchor several of the track pieces. Nothing fancy though and definitely not a power drill. The cars are chunky which is great for chubby little hands and the tower comes together to be a sturdy yet lightweight toy that you can pick up with one hand to move to a different location if necessary. The tower itself doesn't offer much room for creativity though. My son put the cars through a couple of times and then walked away. We did show him how to use the end pieces of the track as a jump to jump over objects or into a box. It could be possible that the tower is more of a cooperative toy, where two or three toddlers would have fun playing with it together. Not necessarily a must-have for a car loving toddler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent toy, worth buying! I got this for my son who is now 24 months. He has been playing with it since he was about 18 months or so and he never gets bored of it. Its big and fun and theres lots of twists and turns so each time they put a car on it goes out a different ramp! Definitely recommend, and for us this was not one of those toys you buy and the child doesn't use, we definitely don't feel we wasted money when we purchased this!
