These are very effective for sleeping. You do have get them just right to be fully comfortable when side sleeping. I have neighbors above me walking around/dragging stuff across the floor at night and with these, I don't get jolted awake.  I can still hear my alarm go off in the morning.

Normal foam earplugs do not work for me, but these are an absolute game-changer. They come well packaged, and you can get multiple uses out of them if you're careful. I will say, I found that palming them to warm them up a bit for massaging them over the ear works out great. Once they're gently molded to your ear, get ready for uninterrupted sleep. They work well enough to block out my husband's snoring, but not my morning alarm. If you keep them clean, you can get multiple uses. I will say that if you have long hair, you may want to pull it back to avoid getting bits of your hair stuck on the earplugs. I would highly recommend trying them out.

Sanity Saver

Recently used these in my 6 year old's ears to go swimming. 
He has tubes and his ear was already leaking fluid. I was concerned that the ear plug wouldn't stick in his wet ear canal but it did. They are dense, pliable and stay securely. 
Simple, easy to use and didn't seem to bother my kid.

I did not know if these would block out thumping noise, but these earplugs do. These earplugs have allowed me to tolerate living downstairs under my stomping and thumping upstairs neighbors.

By flattening the putty over the ear hole rather than shoving it inside, you completely eliminate internal ear pressure and canal fatigue. They sit flush against the ear. Your pillow will not push against them or dislodge them while you toss and turn. They are the official earplugs of USA Swimming, blocking out cold water and moisture to effectively prevent swimmer's ear. The soft, tacky silicone putty easily shapes to any ear size or unique geometry. Safe for children or adults recovering from ear surgeries or using tympanostomy tubes.

Ear Plugs

I love these earplugs.   I have tried a lot of different brands and keep coming back to these ones.   They are big but not too big.  They stay in my ears all night and I get about a week use out of each pair.    I am a sound sensitive sleeper, these definitely help me get a full night's sleep.

I've been using these earplugs for over 20 years and they've never let me down; they're fantastic. I can't sleep without them anymore. I sleep with these earplugs in; I never want to be without them again.
They're very good. They isolate sound well. Surprisingly, you'll hear your alarm clock or phone ring if it's nearby.
Highly recommended, not only for sleeping, but also for swimming, concerts where the music is very loud, or noisy places where you want to block out some noise, especially if you're sensitive to sound.

As a senior adult I experience sensitive ears and that does not work well with summertime swimming.  These work very well.  They mold to my ear and secure a watertight seal.  Easy to use and the price is very reasonable.  They would also work very well for noise control.

Very pleased

First thing: the fit…each piece can be divided into pieces that will be appropriately sized for your ear. The way that I have found them to be most effective, is when the piece is big enough to make a point that can fit partway  into your ear canal, with enough extra to be able to flatten fully into the outer ear area. Sometimes I have to do a little wiggling of the part that goes into the ear canal, so that air isn't trapped in there, which is the way that I have found that the most noise is blocked out. If there's a bunch of air behind the wax, you get more noise infiltration.  
I wear these multiple times before I replace them, so they last a good long time and you cannot beat the value of these things in my opinion!

Size (and fit) matters!

I had to give five stars because I couldn't think of a single thing to count against them. These have been so incredibly helpful. One of my ears has an odd shape to it and these plugs have no trouble blocking that while the insertable ear plugs can fill that part in properly. I can't sleep without them.

These don't work at all. I tried to use the whole ear plug but I guess I have small ear canals. I cut them in half and they still don't fit. I don't recommend these.
