WORTH THE MONEY

Wow, was looking to pick up some new kitchen chairs, but found this set to be like getting the table for free, so took a chance and am very pleased. Not top quality, or I would give 5 stars, but then the price would be much higher. If you are looking for a really reasonable kitchen set that won't take too much of a beating, then I would take a chance on this. Reminds me of a cute cottage setting!

Really nice little kitchen set!

I find this set surprising despite the very small price, I did only one thing to put it of superior quality, that is to glue the chairs with joiner glue to the assembly... It is very solid, does not crack, and I am proud of my set. I recommend it with the little trick I added, which only takes 12 hour more for assembly and a little higher quality glue, as long as you are there.

Very good kitchen set

Overall it is a nice set. Sturdy and easy to look at. Looks great in my apartment. Took a lot longer to put together than anticipated, but it is worth the effort. The delivery was quick and able to track online. Free shipping too!! If you're on a budget, this is a good product.

Nice affordable set.

We bought this set for our kitchen to replace a round table which took up too much room... this table is a great size for the 2 of us and can certainly fit 4 or more if needed. Table is very light weight and easy for us to handle - looks great in our kitchen.... would recommend.

Great buy !!

This was so easy to assemble. I used my own Allen keys and screwdriver and had it done in no time at all. I am female, 59, and in a wheel chair. Looks great. I love the look!

Wow!!

I bought this product a couple of months ago and I am very happy that I did. The table and chairs are easy to assemble, light and very pretty. They fit perfectly in my small dining corner.

Very attractive and simple to assemble. The price was reasonable as well. I highly recommend this set, particularly for those with limited kitchen space.

Mainstays pine dining set

This table is simple and yet would look nice in any setting.

We bought it in store (I think its only available in store now) and its just nice, its a good size, and although its good for 4 people, you could get 6 at the table if you wanted to play a board game.

putting it together was pretty easy....you just have to follow the instructions (hint hint other reviewers.) Yes its easier to build with 2 people, but it can be built with 1 person, took myself 2 hours. The chairs were the most difficult part, but nothing back breaking.

Those of you that have a small child, the chair actually holds up very well if you have one of those highchairs that sit on the chair, and they do feel sturdy.

If I ever needed another table due to this breaking, I would look at getting the same one again.

Nice table at a nice price

OK, my experience in putting together items of furniture like this told me to have glue on hand. Because this is solid pine, I made sure that it was wood glue. I made sure to put a dab of wood blue in each of the doweling holes. And boy, am I glad that I did.

The first issue that I ran into, is that the 3 pieces of wood that are attached for the BACK of the chair where you back rests, only the top one is screwed in. The other 2 are only held in place with wooden dowels, which are those short stubbing cylindrical pieces of wood that go into already drilled holes. That's why I said it was a good thing that I decided to put glue in EACH of those doweling holes.

The other MAJOR issue that I ran into, which caused me to have to modify, or McGuyver the assembly of the chairs was the fact that piece number 4 and 5, which are directly underneath the sitting platform part of the chair (the part that you sit on), are NOT flush on the sides or front of the sitting platform piece of wood. There is a total of 6 screws that are supposed to be screwed from the bottom UP into the flat sitting platform part of the chair. But because the gap on the sides and front is about a quarter of an inch, I could NOT for the life of me, get the screws to screw into the sitting platform from the bottom up. I was able to at the BACK, but I had to COMPLETELY OMIT the 4 side screws (2 on the left and 2 on the right) and screw them directly on the the TOP of the sitting platform in the corners directly into the legs of the chair. Yes, it is much more stable, but it looks AWFUL.

So for now, I have completed only 2 chairs, and BOTH have these issues. Once I finish putting together the ENTIRE SET, I will be sure to post another review. I surely hope that the table is much sturdier and easier to put together.

I am not sure if I would recommend this product to someone else. The price point is good. And it's solid wood, not MDF of chip wood as some other people call it. So I know it's SHOULD be a solid piece of furniture for my 7 year old and I to use.

HORRIBLE TO PUT TOGETHER!!!!
