Setup takes only a few minutes with minimal effort.

It's a good product. Easy to install and use. It has different mode like A/C, ventilation or dehumidification. It's not too heavy or too big. It also comes with a window kit. We have a vertical opening so it was very hard to find something. This one has 2 panels but we only used the one with the exhaust hole because when combined both panel are too big for our window. We've been using it for 2 or 3 weeks and it's been working good so far.

I have several portables rather than central air . . . my two Midea machines (8000 & 10000 btu) have been in service now for three years . . . they're quieter, substantially more compact and cheaper than the name-brand models I've had over the years.  The 10000 btu in particular really cranks out cold air, just about as much as the name-brand 14000 btu  model than runs in another room.  I whole-heartedly recommend these Midea machines, particularly if you're concerned about noise levels.

One of the best feature is that it also dehumidifies, an added plus for us. Would definitely recommend this portable AC if you are looking for a remote controlled portable unit that works great. This comes in handy during the heat waves.

It was easy to set up and you have everything you need to set it up in the box. It is portable but only just as you do need to set it up near a window and the panel that comes with it has to be temporarily fixed so that the hose can be set up. It is on wheels so it is easy to move around. Also it is pretty easy to remove the hose should you wish to have it moved to another room. There is no need for any extra wiring or any breaking of walls to set it up. With regards cooling it cools effectively and quickly. It is a little noisy as there is a hum when in use but this is no different to any other air conditioner. I love the remote option. I know I'm going to be using this a lot during the summer. I like the color too as it would complement most contemporary homes.

Seriously it isn't unsightly especially compared to a normal window unit (with the bulky unit hanging out of your window) it looks modern, and the remote is a great bonus! Icy in minutes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little thing is very powerful! The set up was super easy and I ended up using it by the sliding door to the backyard to cool down my living room. It's not at all noisy and it even has its own remote which makes its so convenient. What i loved most was the fact that I could control it from wherever. Even though it's a bit big you can really place this thing in any room that doesn't get the best air circulation. It evenly distributed air and wasn't like a fan and made it feel like stuffy air. It also has wheels and acts as a dehumidifier as well.

Great features

I bought mine a couple of years ago and noticed one thing right away. It sucks dust through almost everywhere. I use the painters green masking tape to solve(or try to) dust & dirt getting in. I also bought a mini wire brush to clean the metal cooling fins. 
I have to remove the back and clean it at least 2- 3 a summer. You need to be a handy man to own one, they need periodic attentio.

They do work , with a little work.

Is this the proper way to install this unit? The duct was extended using an additional duct and connected to the ceiling. The duct is not connected to any source that will circulate outside air. I am afraid that the ceiling dust particles are circulating back into the space. Every time I turn on the unit I start coughing. Please advise.

Installation Question

This worked great for about a month. Now it's leaking. I have drained it, regularly clean the removable filter, and took the whole thing apart to clean the internal filter. It's is still leaking. I had to put it on a shoe rack secondary to my wood floor being ruined. I have contacted the company via live chat 3 times and told someone would get back to me. No one has. I have emailed customer service twice regarding the matter. No response. At this point I don't want to trouble shoot, I want a refund. This is bad business.
