Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I doubt that you will be happy with this product. I purchased one last year. It leaked so bad i couldn't use it without getting wet. I thought maybe I just got a defective one. But just bought another one. And it leaks just as bad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well at first but has design defects and not built to last long. Quite happy with this feeder to begin with, but it is not designed well and not built to last long. The trigger soon became difficult to operate, as was the trigger lock, and it developed internal leaks. I took it apart and discovered the following: Design Problem #1: Trigger is a lever that pushes up on the internal valve, which requires a great deal of force, yet the fulcrum of the trigger is the two thin plastic axles at the end of the molded part. They cannot bear a whole lot of force and one broke. Cannot be repaired by I discovered that placing a plastic shim under between the end of the trigger and the housing was a good substitute for the axles. Design Problem #2: The trigger lock has a keyed tail attached to it which slides forward under the valve when the trigger is pressed. Unfortunately, the tail is thin plastic and becomes deformed during use, which makes it more and more difficult to slide forward with each use. I was able to gently bend the key back into its original shape but guess that it will quickly return to its deformed shape. Design Problem #3: The valve mechanism is included inside a molded hard plastic assembly which extends through the handle. The hose attaches to the end of the assembly, which means that all of the stress of pulling the hose behind the unit is transferred to the assembly. After the hose end, it necks down to a small shaft which leads to the valve housing. All of the stress flexing is transmitted to the area where the narrow shaft connects. Stress fractures soon appear at both stages of the step-down, which I am guessing are what lead to complaints from others of internal leaking. It cannot be repaired. I like this feeder because of the ease of use, the three spray patterns and the high volume but it is not designed for heavy or prolonged use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product is satisfactory, BUT..... I have enormous paws for hands, and I could see how someone with small hands might have some difficulty. For me, the size is right. The sprayer end is decent, but the best model you ever made was the one that had a standard garden hose thread. I used to hook up a short hose and sprinkler, and water my entire garden at once with a single packet of Miracle Gro. You ought to bring back that model, and include the current three-pattern nozzle as a screw-on accessory. Moreover, the included jar should, if it is not already, be threaded to accept a standard quart jar lid, such as that of a Mason jar. In the event that there is leftover solution, it could be removed from the feeder, capped and stored without fear of spillage, and the feeder itself could be cleaned and ready for the next feeding. Conversely, the feeder would be threaded to accept ANY standard quart jar. Convenient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior product. The reservoir bowl is difficult to screw onto trigger. The spray lock mechanism is very difficult to engage. The food mixture cakes up and settles to the bottom of the reservoir bowl. I have shaken the mixture to try and loosen the caking but, the mixture still cakes up again. This also makes it difficult to tell if food mixture is contained in spray during feeding. I have followed all directions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is terrible. Just purchased the feeder to replace old one. The new one is heavy, trigger is hard to hold down, when trying to water plants in pots, the spray is so wide that have to hold the sprayer right into the pot which then pushes out the potting soil, if need to refill the jar, had to remove the sprayer from hose as couldn't get the jar screwed back on. The jar was made for someone with large hands. Thought I could use the jar from the old product but it wouldn't screw on. Wish the old one still worked. Who do you have testing the new products? Some one with large hands, Plus couldn't feed the potted plants property as this product was designed for spaying large ground areas. If new design is developed, include spray area for pots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Valve repeatedly fails. Had an old feeder for decades. The type with just the twist valve. Then if finally broke and had to buy this model. Used it about four times and then the valve stopped working. Figured that was just a fluke and purchased another one. The valve in the second one failed again after only two uses. So now I am on number three. Once I have used up all the miracle grow I have, I will need to change to another fertilizer. Change the design. Simple is better.
