Ratings & Reviews+

Mountain Track Snowshoes is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Shoe for the Novice. The vinyl toe bar on both shoes broke after only a few outings. I suspected this would happen. Vinyl cannot stand up to the constant twisting back and forth with each step. I replaced them with polyester straps, the kind that are typically used for leashes and dog collars. Hopefully they will last a good deal longer. On the upside, they were easy enough to replace. The bindings are secure however, a quick release would be nice. The crampons are plastic although painted to look like cast aluminum. Be careful when stepping over paved paths. It would be best to remove them before crossing. Again, quick release would be nice. The poles are nice but the straps seem to be in an awkward position. Overall, a good product for the price but keep a repair kit handy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waste of Money These snowshoes are nothing more than toys for children. They appear to be of good quality, but they are made from cheap vinyl that cannot withstand the design of twisting and weight in cold temps. The broke within an hour of using on an easy hike on level ground at temps of -20. In addition, the telescoping poles often collapse under use, making them unreliable. This set is not worth the trouble. Should they break while on a hike in deep snow, the user could be in big trouble. They may be half the price of a quality set of snow shoes, but a complete waste of money in the end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good set for the money I purchased these pair of snowshoes because the next smaller size was sold out. I thought they may be too big (I'm 5'9" and 145 lbs), but they work just fine. I like the telescoping poles because they can be adjusted easily. I wish the bag was a tad bigger, though, because I have a hard time zipping it up with the snowshoes and the poles in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super value I found comparable snowshoes at one of the big mail order catalogs for outdoorsmen...they wanted over $250 for the complete package...poles, bag and snowshoes.
