I used a baby food grinder just like this one almost 40 years ago when I had my first child. I was so happy to find this for my first grandchild. Luckily my son and daughter in law think the same way I do and have no desire to feed their precious little one food that was mass produced with God only knows what. Making your own baby food is so simple and this little gadget makes it easy to do where ever you are!! Just put whatever you're eating in the grinder, turn the handle and you have baby food. Couldn't be easier.

It's a very helpful product to make quick and healthy small meals for my little one. I recommend this product when starting solid feeding and need to quickly grind fruits and vegetables.

A quick and helpful product

I use this to make food for my 6 month old son. He looks the food, it isn't too liquidy or too chuncky its perfect for him! i haven't had any leaks, or anything of that matter east to clean up i can take everything apart! I paid $3.99 for mine so it was very worthy of the money!

So far so good!

This is a must for all parents, makes a thoughtful gift, and allows for parents to easily make fresh food fast for their growing baby! Baby can eat with the family, and eat the same food that they are smelling from the kitchen.

So extremely useful!

This grinder is good for its intended purpose. I have used it to grind cooked apples, banana, avocado, and even spaghetti for my baby. It does not have any sharp cutting surfaces, it just purees the food by pushing it through a grate with holes in it and doing so works pretty well. I have not been able to get a fine puree such as those in a stage one jarred baby food but after adding some water I was able to feed the spaghetti puree to my 5 month old.

I was afraid that the spaghetti sauce might stain the plastic such as some of my tupperware type containers but I rinsed it right after using it and it washed away. The entire thing comes apart which really makes cleaning it a lot easier than if it didn't come apart.

Actually using it is pretty easy, just put the food in the bottom and then push down a bit while turning the handle and the food comes out the top into the bowl part. There is a rubber seal around the plunger part of the grinder and I have not had any problems with it leaking out of the bottom.

The grinder can be used to quickly make one portion and serve right away and I have also used it to make larger batches and freeze for later.

I would definitely recommend this product, it makes it easy to feed baby the same fresh, homemade, and healthy food that the rest of the family eats on a daily basis.

Awesome grinder for baby food at a good price

Great product for the price! The only problem you will have is with juicy foods that have some liquid. The juice can run out of the bottom. Putting a saucer or bowl under it helps not to loose juice and make a big mess. Works great with solid foods like apples to make apple sauce, spaghetti as long as not to much liquid. Over all I really like this food grinder! You can choose how fine or course the food is by how fast or slow you grind and the pressure you use to push the plunger up.

We bought this item to grind 'people' food for our 13 yr old cat who has stomach issues. For this purpose it works.

Good for the price!

First the good - the metal grinder is great because it can grind almost anything I would want to give my baby. It is stain-free plastic as another reviewer said, so after weeks of use it still looks brand new.
The cons however, were insurmountable for me - the metal grinder with the rotating bar did not come out at first. It seemed fixed to the cup so I was turning it upside down to load food from the back! Of course, that was really messy if the food had any liquid!
Then somehow, after several washes, one day I was able to yank the grinder plate off the cup (like I've seen on other food grinders) but that made it worse, because it never fit back no matter how hard i tried. So everytime I pushed down on it to rotate - the grinder plate yanked out and all the food came spilling out. So frustrating!
If it was a defective piece, I don't know how it got past quality assurance, but it is forgiveable. If this is how it is meant to be - then I absolutely do not recommend it!

I hope I got a defective piece!

My baby is 7 months old and we are giving her solids, i.e fruits and veggies. One thing we like about this product is it can help you make fresh food for every meal but it is too small to make baby food in bulk and store. When we grind the food, the base is not strong enough so it keeps moving.

Not sturdy enough

the first food I tried grinding was avocado, which by itself is pretty soft and should have made it through the grinder very easily, but no, it required a lot of cranking power to mash a small piece of avocado through. The blade that should be grinding the food is dull, so I don't expect it to be able to grind a fresh apple at all. Waste of money for fresh food, I will be using it to mash already cooked veggies , hopefully it works better as a strainer.
