Ratings & Reviews+

Natural Instincts Vibrant Hair Colour is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Definately not what it advertised! I have been using Clariol Nice and Easy for a couple years now and have always loved the end results no matter if it was brown, blonde, or red dye I was using. After using natural instincts vibrant 10 min color tonight, I now have orange roots! Reddish brown is a lie, its reddish orange!!! Mind you I'm 24, have no grey roots, and my hair was a med/dark brown no highlights. I matched it to the color on the back of the box and was so excited about having this beautiful deep aurburnish hair after only 10min! But I was definitely surprised after washing out my hair, then drying it hoping and praying it would be darker, but its not. My roots are ORANGE! I really wish I had read previous reviews because now I have to go back to the store and buy another two boxes wasting my money to hopefully fix this botch product. Please Clariol get rid of this line!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did you ruin my favorite hair product? I used to love Clairol Natural Instincts. LOVE it. Spiced Tea was a perfect shade for me. It made my naturally dark blonde hair look red and gorgeous. Everyone thought I was a natural redhead (or spending $$ at a salon for such great results). The new formula is terrible. The color is ashy and dull. It was an overly dark shade of red for the first week and looked totally fake. Now two weeks later, it just looks dark and dull. After reading the negative reviews of the color refresher, I don't want to try it. Natural Instincts used to be such a unique and wonderful product, since there are very few nonpermanent dyes on the market, especially reds. I had tried the others but didn't like them as much. You could have had my brand loyalty forever, Clairol, but I don't want to use the new Natural Instincts again. Can you please please please bring back the original formula and colors? I want to love you again, but this ashy color is breaking my heart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Carrot orange roots with the remainder dark brown I had used the traditional Natural Instincts for years in the past and decided to give this line a try. I am not new to DIY hair color and applied as instructed, processing for 10 minutes... the result, ORANGE roots, they were previously an ashier shade in comparison to the rest of my hair and now I look ridiculous!!! I am beside myself and have NEVER had a Clairol product (or any other for that matter) give me these results!!! I don't know what I am going to do to fix this :'( Lindsay's commentary on the same exact product with ORANGE results tells me that this is a product issue and not operator error!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product turned me into a blonde!??! My hair turned out much, much lighter than "light brown"... it's more like a brassy medium blonde. My hair was pretty dark before- a little darker than the woman's hair that is pictured on the "Fresh Maple" box- so I was pretty shocked to see my hair was suddenly 4 or 5 shades lighter. I've used at-home box color off an on for 15 years and I've never had results that were so far off from the color I was expecting. I'm just hoping it won't cost too much more of my time and money to get my hair back to normal and neutralize the awful orange-y tones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have been coloring for over 10 yrs. Doing it the same way, using the same shade. Like other users, I wanted to try your new product. Clairol has always been my trusted company. There was barely enough to do my roots, never mind adding the rest to the remaining hair. I have slightly long hair, just past my shoulders. Three weeks later and I have to do it again. My ends need to be done because the bottle seemed to be only half full. There was still gray that showed at the top of my head's hairline. Did the 2 week touch up and that was a waste as well because there was still gray showing. I want to try the Foam version because I like the idea of "no drip" but I'm wairy of trying a new product after this disaster.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old Just ran out of my stash of the "old" formula and had to buy the "new." It's very bad - doesn't cover, the refresher packet is horrible. And you don't get as much as before. Can't find a corresponding color to the one I used to use. I am desperately looking for another non-permanent brand. This reminds me of when they switched to the "new" Coke. They actually pulled it and restored the original. Any chance you'll bring back the old formula. It can be done and we'll forgive you.
