This has been a great purchase. I have saved $40 month in home phone bills and the quality of the calls has been tremendous.

Very easy to setup as I have setup it directly to my router, only took 5 mins to set everything up.

Great product will be getting my family to purchase.

Fantastic Value and Quality

The module is simple and quick to install. To connect it with the computer there is a software available on the NetTalk Duo website, I recommend this product because it is a simple system to use, very affordable and especially if you have long distance calls to make in Canada or the United States.

Bought it skeptical, but it was no problem porting my current number and works beautifully!!!  Tell everyone I know about it.

Great money saving idea!!!

For the price of the unit and the features, this is a great unit. However, it seems that the actual service through the internet (Voip) needs some work. For people who only have a home line but no cellular as a backup, I would say to wait a little while until the service providers from netTalk have been solidified. Don't forget that your internet service must be high speed or better for this to work flawlessly..

netTalk

I've been using NetTALK since July of 2013. Overall, stable connection but I get disconnected once in a while during phone calls (it may be related to the router though). If you plan on calling any Organizations or Governments that have a "1-8xx" (toll free numbers), you won't be able to do so AT ALL. I've read many complaints that were traced over a year ago in regards to toll free numbers, and yet, it is still an issue.

Furthermore, I had a very disappointing experience with their 911 Service during the night (although the main tool to voice out publicly about problems is via Facebook, I thought of dropping a line here to warn those who are considering this purchase - well, to at least warn you to consider a back-up plan for critical situations, i.e. 911). When dialing 911, there is a first responder that answers by "911 Emergency", but this isn't a regular 911 Emergency Call Center; it seems to be outsourced somewhere out of the Country (by calling twice within 18 minutes, two different ladies answered, but their strong accent gave me the impression I was calling in India). My mother-tongue is french, and due to my panic during the call, I was speaking french, but the so called agent who answered my call asked me if I spoke english as she didn't understand a word of what I was saying. So I switched to english...

When you first signup with NetTALK, you are requested to provide a valid address of residence in order for NetTALK to forward the info to their so called "E911"; well, I had done that 6 months ago, but when I called, I was asked to state my name, my date of birth, my full home address with the postal code....among the PHONE NUMBER I'm calling from! Then, you will be asked to state the nature of your emergency. Keep in mind that this is only a "dispatch center", so I tried to explain briefly the incident and the purpose of my call, and she said abruptly and I quote: "The nature of your call IS NOT a state of Life and Death, so please dial Four-One-One ---> 411 !!! in order to get the phone number of the police station in your area". Then......a silence, then followed by a "disconnect" tone. 12 minutes had passed since they first answered the call, and they had hung up! Glad that I WAS NOT in a life threatening situation! Upset, I dialed 911 again....to be answered by a different lady, with the same "accent". Without any intro, I said I had just called for an emergency matter and that the line got disconnected. This lady interrupted me and said: "My colleague is currently speaking with the police station, so please hang up and keep your phone free as they will call you in a few minutes." Then, a click...then the disconnect tone AGAIN. How would she know who I was? Well, all in all, my phone never rang; I guess tenants in my building also called the police, to then see 2 police patrol cars in front of the building 10 minutes after the disconnect sound of my second call... 34 minutes total. Although my initial call wasn't resolved within 12 minutes, it was already 12 minutes too long.

Make sure you consider a backup plan should you ever need to dial 911 for either Fire, Police or a Whambulance, as even if it is a state of Life or Death, 12 minutes is way too much before the call gets dispatched to the Regular Regional 911 Call Center.

Stable service, but be warned.

I tried to get this device to work for a month and then gave up and returned it. It worked initially but would often disconnect mid-call. Tech support is ridiculous. I waited over an hour each time I'd call in. The last attempt by tech support to fix the problem resulted in the device not working at all.
Since returning the device I have still received emails from company. The first one said 9-1-1 would no longer work when dialed from a Nettalk phone. The second said Canadian customers were temporarily unable to receive calls. Total joke of a company. Buy the Ooma. I've had it for a month and so far it works great!

Terrible product

Overall a bad product. It is cheap indeed (compared with broadband) but sometimes useless.
I bought it 2 months ago and so far I had only headaches..
Even as I write this review the device doesn't work.
