I really like this tent.  Its roomy inside and the front porch is great.  It's a little tricky to put up alone.  Next camping trip I'm going to try staking down the corners first.  I went in the middle of October so it was a little chili.   But i took my infrared heater and the tent stayed nice and warm.   It does not have to electric port.  But I put it thru the front porch and covered the cord.  Since the front porch has no way of covering the screens i put a ez up over the porch.  It didn't rain so I could not test it out.  I plan on putting tarps on the sides of the ez up.  I will take pictures and write another review next camping trip.   Thank you

Sturdy and affordable

This is my second week-long camping trip with this tent, and it works great for us. I've been fortunate enough not to get much rain,  so I can't say it's been leak-tested, but it's been durable and functional. Very spacious, good pockets, very good ventilation bc of the crossbar on the fly. The vestibule is really good for keeping dirt and bugs out of the main tent, and you can keep your shoes there in the corners where there's some protection from rain. The main part of the vestibule is exposed tho, so clearly anything in there will get rained on. And I was able to assemble it alone, though another adult makes it a lot easier to manage bc of the size. The only issue we have is that some campsites don't have enough space for the tents footprint and it doesn't seem to go up well if the surface isn't level all the way to the corners. So I would only get this tent if you really need this much space.

Durable and comfortable

I've used the Evanston 8 Tent on multiple trips with friends and it's been a great experience. It offers tons of space for sleeping bags and gear, and the screened room is a huge bonus—it keeps bugs out and is perfect for relaxing or storing muddy shoes. It held up well during moderate rain and wind, and the ventilation keeps it from getting too stuffy inside. Setup was pretty straightforward with two people and didn't take long. The quality feels solid, and it's great for families or groups.

This tent is the best I've owned for large (car camping) tents. It was a warm weekend the first time I used it, and I pulled the rain flap back off the back half and it was stars and moon over head. The back wall is all screen and I loved it. we didn't have bug issues, so for us the patio area was just a second layer of defense from pests. It's not a large space in the front but I liked having it. I can't speak for a rain event, but the other reviews were positive so I got this one. If you don't have the rain flap on there isn't a lot of privacy, but if that doesn't matter then it's a great tent. It's 12x12 inside the cabin, sounds like a lot of space but fills up quick with cots. My advice is to measure out your stuff. It's still a dome style so you need a gap on the side walls from a cot or air mat. I liked that since it was good weather I didn't have to totally lock it down with all the tie downs and it was still sturdy. I felt if I was going to be in a storm I'd tighten it up and it would be good too. Great buy.

Awesome tent!

We bought this for our son's Scouting camps... it is perfect.  The screened porch keeps bugs out while enjoying the time outside, and the zippers close completely... and it was big enough for us to use a heater in cold weather.  It was a great purchase.

Perfect size for Scouting...

Love this tent so much and would buy again! I use it a couple of times each year for the last couple of years. The screen area of the tent leaks when it rains. Ideally if the designed was changed just a bit to reduce water. One of the poles cracked on the last trip sadly and not sure if there is a replacement I can get.

Love this tent!

I'm very happy with my new tent.  Good price.  It's huge inside!  I was able to put it up all by myself without any struggles.

Affordable and easy to put up!

Went to Disneyland in early March and stayed at an RV park down the road. (We love to tent camp). Rain was in the forecast but we've been plenty of times we figured it would only be some showers....we were wrong!! It poured the entire time with few breaks in between! The good thing is, our new tent stayed completely dry inside!! The only thing I can say is it was hard to put away.

Tent holds up fairly well to a moderate rain (minor leaks) bit and tent poles began to breakdown during the initial assembly and scored/cut the tent pole sleeves during disassembly. Screened porch seems a good idea until rain when it becomes a muddy mess. Overall a nice idea but poor execution.

nice design but materials are sub standard

I love the design of the tent. A front porch is great for our young boys to take off their shoes before going into tent. However, we had about 12 hrs of steady rain  (which is a lot and unusual). Water leaked into all four corners of the tent. The rain drained down the fly and soaked those corners. We were stuffing all of our dirty clothes into the corners to soak up the water. Water also leaked in at the side seams and soaked the toddler blow up bed that pushed up against the side. I did try to deal the seams from the ibside of the tent before we went camping but evidently it wasnt good enough.  I will seal it again before we go camping next time. @

Had this tent a while seems to have lots of failures with minimal use. Zippers failed and loose teeth, pole split, rip stop fabric ripped, leaks, screen tears, and tent steaks bent on first use. If your not going to a heavily groomed camp ground on a perfect day this shouldn't be your first choice. Coleman use to be my go to but I am starting to question the quality of their products. Really sad since this was a wedding gift from my wife.
