Can be straightforward, but instructions can be unclear.

Danby Air conditioner

The unit I purchased from Costco cools our apt bedroom perfectly.  It is quieter than the fan I used before.  I have noticed one difference between the actual unit and the manual's instructions.  
1) The COOL mode still requires drainage.  The manual says otherwise.
2) The continuous drain plug has 2 parts, a threaded cap AND an internal soft rubber plug.  The latter is not mentioned in the manual, but MUST be removed for the continuous drain to work.

From reading some reviews I can see that there are issues with the manual that would cause people to return their units. Thankfully, COSTCO has a great return policy.

Good AC unit

Received it yesterday and just have it installed and turned on,  all is working fine,  but the temperature number is very dim , anyway to make it readable ?

LED panel

I have not set it up permanently yet as I am trying to figure out the buttons on the remote control. The manual gives description of the different features but it does not point to the specific button that it is describing. For example number 6 follow me button: press to activate the follow me feature. Okay so what button is this? Another example is number 10 shortcut button: press to set and activate the shortcut function. Again it does not show me which button this is on the remote. Perhaps you can send me a proper list of the remote control buttons numbered 1 to 12 with arrows pointing to the specific buttons on the diagram of the remote. Thank you in advance for your help.

Danby portable air conditioner model number DPA120B9IBDB-6

Was a very good portable ac in the first summer season, but the subsequent summer season and only the second time using it for a season it showed an error code of a refrigerant leak (EC OL).

Solid AC just not durable

Don't get me wrong cools awesome,  but poor design.  The attachment is held by tiny clips that don't hold the hose up to the window when installed  which caused one clip to break.  House is too heavey.

Poor Design

Display window doesn't show settings. The black background with a red light is nearly impossible to read and the tiny light holes below the setting buttons are impossible to read.  We took it in to get repaired and they said its working perfectly. This is a major design flaw and we would return it for a different model if we could.  When we purchased the unit it was not plugged in and working or we would have noticed it immediately. I hope Danby offers us a solution.  Otherwise the unit cools well.

Display Window Doesn't Show Settings

Over an hour and my place has went from 29 degrees to 28.5 degrees keeps kicking on and off? Brand new out of the box let it sit for 6 hours have tried restarting it not sure why it's doing this called Danby at 4pm and they were closed.
