I bought this sound machine because I am an extremely light sleeper. This isn't so loud that I can't hear my alarm, but loud enough that every little noise doesn't wake me up (the volume can be adjusted and does go very loud if needed). I have also carried this with me when we stayed in a hotel. I like that it can work off of batteries or with the wall plug making it easy to move from room to room. The sounds are very realistic, so much that my dog that is scared of thunder DOES NOT like the setting with rain and thunder. Price was very reasonable and I am very happy with my purchase and also purchased one for my dad to help him sleep and he is also very happy with the sound machine. Will definitely buy again if this one quits working and would definitely recommend!

Love it! I've had this brand before but the newer one has a knob volume control, which I appreciate as I can find tube the volume I want for each particular sound. I'm finally sleeping better and getting to sleep faster thanks to the comforting back noises. Also like the battery compartment for backup when needed or for travel.

This is a great sound machine! It has multiple options for sounds to help go to sleep. I use it for my kids and it helps with the quiet of night to keep them sleeping and not disturbed. It's great background noises that are relaxing and not to stimulating, the sound is good quality too. It can get very loud as well. It's easy to use as you just turn the sound all the way off til it clicks to turn it off. It can play non stop as well. It is also easy to take anywhere on the go. If you need a simple sound machine with good quality sound and ease of use look no further!

Great sound machine!

I have used a sound machine since my first child was born in 97. Would keep one in his room to drown out noise so he could sleep, and I would hear it over the baby monitor. Also 2nd child in 2002- they grew up with one in their rooms and I had one. I've went threw about 4- I bought this same kind about 3 years- still works great- I purchased another for my dachshund to go into her room while she is in her kennel at night to drown out noise. She will bark if the security cameras goes off on our phone, and if she hears us still up watching tv or talking. 
I for one can't sleep without it.  If I have to take a work trip or we go on vacation, that is one item packed first!   Love it

Soothes the kids to sleep within minutes! Still can't understand why they are afraid of real thunder yet keep the noise machines on the thunder sounds?  Now that they are older and have their own rooms, we had to have a second machine. Expensive but worth it.

You have a good range of volume control as well as you can have it continue to play or set a timer. I'm a little sleeper as well as my kid and it cancels the noise. Also my significant other works over nights and this has been helpful for him as well

Better sleep

We have 3 puppies who sleep in our room but we're having trouble sleeping because we have a loud house. We had been using the TV for white noise but the Internet acts up all the time and they'd have a bad sleep because of it. This little white noise maker fills up the entire room with sound and keeps it calm and quiet in the room. With a house with 8 people it's impressive. it's been running steady since we got it for a few months now. I highly recommend this item and if it ever stops working we will definitely buy another.

Easy to use. Flexible, you can use it with batteries if traveling or plug it in and use it.
All the sounds are great, pick the one you and go to sleep. Also has a timer so it will shut off after you fall asleep. I leave mine on all night because if I get to use the bathroom during the night the sound is still going to help you get back to sleep.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It wasn't quite a good as I had hoped, but still a decent sound machine. The sound isn't quite as soothing as my old one (that I was finally able to fix). I might have to return this new sound machine, but I'm still super happy with Walmart's goods and services overall!

Drains batteries like crazy- I've had this thing for 1 month and have already gone through 3 sets of 4 Duracell double A batteries. It's not like I'm running it 24/7, I only use it at night on a super low volume so there's no way it should be wasting batteries like that. In addition, the dial is very finicky. It goes from silent to way too loud instantly and it's really hard to dial it back to a nice lower temperature for sleeping. This is a piece of garbage, don't buy!!!
