This purifier is terrific. I had one at work (nurse's office) and felt safer during the pandemic. And then when I brought it home, we had a major forest fire and it helped keep the smoke out of our house. I have two others and this is the quietest one. If asked, I would certainly recommend this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As the saying goes, this is a product I wish I had way before now! That is true with this product. I'm so thankful to have it. My allergies is really nonexistent now. I used to wake up several times at night with a stuffy nose, I'm happy to report that I can sleep through the night with no issues. It's a must have if you have allergies, have pets in the home, smoke inside or just need cleaner air in general. 
Set up was super simple. It comes with the two filters that have plastic over them (to keep moisture out). That will need to be removed. There is a tab on the right side so it's easy to indicate which way it goes in. After that plug in an set up to WiFi. 
The instructions were right on easy to follow and has some great maintenance care and troubleshooting. So hang on to that, squirrel the instructions away somewhere in a drawer, if you ever need to fall back to it. 
The machine is not to big and bulky. It has a nice sleek look to it and doesn't take up a ton of room. For reference it stands as high as my knee. 
There is 3 modes. Low - med - high 
I'll start with the noise level.
High setting was a bit more loud then my small quiet fan. I keep the clean air machine in my room. So the noise doesn't bother me. It's not very loud and if I were around it all day, it would still be easy to coexist with. I can still hear the tv with out having to have it on full blast and talk on the phone. So low is like you would expect. Not to loud.
There is a sleep mode.This is a bit of, “am I hearing something or am I not” and is it working in the night, kind of thing! Just because you have to be right against it to hear something at all. I know that it's working cause I can fill the fan kicking out a tad bit of clean air! It's that quiet though and doesn't bother my sleep at all. 
To power this machine, the care book says it only uses 40 w. So I'm not expecting my electric bill to make a dent in my wallet or break the bank. 
The display is a digital screen. So it has some bright color to it. And this can be turned off. Very glad for that because we had an alarm clock with a bright screen and always bugged me at night. 
All in all I'm very happy with this product. It's made a big difference in my life and I'm so thankful for that. It's made so well and built to last. It's got a nice look to it. Durable and I'm overall satisfied. I have mine placed on carpet, but if you wanted to put it on a wood table or something it has rubber feet under so it won't leave scratches. Can be set up to WiFi. Has a easy to navigate app. One last small note, it has a good long electrical cord if you need to place it farther from the outlet! Overall I'm completely satisfied and I would recommend.

Cleans the air

As you have seen from previous reviews, a lot of people have experienced their unit dying and no longer turning on. Only leaving a red light on that won't respond to any button presses. These claims are definitely true!

My unit died 2.5 months after the warranty expired and Levoit won't replace it! It seems this is a consistent pattern with this product and you should definitely step away from buying this product or potentially other Levoit products until Levoit fixes both their products stands by their products by offering replacements shortly after warranty expiration when they see their products are consistently dying shortly after the warranty ends.

The product itself is great when it works, easy to use, purifies the air, and works seamlessly. However, that is when it works. This product can be very finicky with getting it up and running, and when it dies within 2-years, which it will, you will be out of luck.

Breaks right when your warranty expires

I have loved this purifier since I purchased! It was nice being able to control the functions from my phone. Dealing with a global pandemic, it helped give me a piece of mind. However, just like other reviews I've read it just stopped working. Almost exactly 2 years from the date of purchase. I have contacted customer service and responded to the email they sent but I am waiting for a response. I do hope they will be able to me help me out considering this was not a cheap product. This was recommended to me by sister and hers has broken as well. Please help.

Should have read these reviews before purchasing

Initial impressions were great, loved the app and alexa integration, plus it could autodetect air impurities. We stocked up on replacement filters and kept it clean every two months, thinking we finally found a brand to love... and then it just stopped working shortly after warranty expired. Tried new filters and reset, but just orange light on display like other reviews.

I purchased two of these LV-PUR131S air purifiers. Both units eventually had the same problem. The icons on the display panel turned red and became unresponsive. Pressing the reset button on the side of the units did nothing.

I managed to get one replaced under warranty. Levoit refused to replace the other since it was out of warranty even though this is clearly a common problem among other users.

Pure junk. Do not buy. I'm sure my remaining working unit will probably die too once I roll just out of the warranty period. I had purchased extra replacement filters too but I now realize that was another expensive mistake. Into the garbage they go since I won't be able to use them for anything else. 

No more Levoit products for me.

Two broken Levoit Air Purifiers

Got this unit just over a month ago and was really enjoying it keeping the air in my room clean. Then out of the blue, the unit wouldn't turn on, but would only show the red lights. It seems this is a manufactured defect, as many people have the same issue. Sad it only worked for a month, and unfortunately I don't have the receipt, so I'm stuck with a very expensive paperweight.  I would avoid this brand air purifier unless the manufacturer handles this known defect properly and does a recall. They shouldn't even replace with the same unit as there's a high likelihood of it failing as others have said. I have a Honeywell filter years ago and it's still running like a champ. Wish I could say the same about this one.

Works Amazing... Until it doesn't

I bought a LV-PUR131S that worked well for 2 years. RIGHT after the warranty expired it stopped working: the control panel stopped responding and it would only display a red/orange light. What is worse: I had just replaced the HEPA and carbon filters when it stopped working.
I contacted support and Levoit sent a replacement unit free of charge and provided a 1-year extension to the warranty. Guess what? The replacement unit has just stopped working as well 2 weeks after the extended warranty expired! Oh, and guess what? I replaced the filters again right before the (replacement) unit stopped working!
I decided to check the reviews here and it seems a pretty common problem with this specific model, so I decided to write this review to warn others. This model works well but it does not last and apparently it likes to stop working once the warranty is over. What a joke!

Stopped working twice right after warranty expired

will not recommend this product. Today, second time in 2 years, this unit stopped working. I gradually changed my filters as SMART Functions were informing me, I have three other products of Levoit and honestly working fine but for some reason, Humidifiers from LEVOIT usually will be stopped working after 2 years. I was changing it's filter and turned off the device, now It is not turning back on.. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I have all evidences.
