OMGosh !! When I took it out of the box , I was Astonished !!! In this day %26 age I could not believe they still made Beautiful, Sturdy, well constructed like the old days !! I grew up with these fans %26 I beg to differ, but my fan is NOT noisy at all !!!   I Love it ! I'm VERY happy with my purchase ! Also, the price from 75 yrs. ago until now , I think is WELL WORTH IT !!! These fans are SERIOUS QUALITY ! Thank You !!

This is my third fan and not because of issues with the first two but because I have a need for a third and my first two have been in use for has to be around 20 years.  One fan I use at night to sleep which means it has run 20 years or so 8 hours 7 days a week.

great fan

I love the little handle  that is tucked into the back - which is strong enough to carry short distances.  I appreciate the bag that comes with the fan that will help keep the dust off of it when it is not in use.  For its size, it sure pushes a lot of air out to circulate.  I feel the drawbacks of the device is that its is a little louder than I anticipated especially in the highest setting and I wish the head was able to tilt up a little bit more than it does.

We are in our first month with the fan and it is great. The craftsmanship is superb. The performance is awesome. It circulated air so well in our living room on the low setting. The high setting is too powerful for the space we have it in. Well worth the money for aesthetics (Made from real metal) and performance.

Well made quality fan

I bought this fan to help circulate air flow in our bedroom. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing to the eye, it circulates the air perfectly and doesn't make too much noise. It's pleasant to sleep with it on.

Awesome Everyday Fan

Nice fan overall. Use it as a sleep aid. Blade is a little out of balance so when using on slow speed it rattles a bit. I can see the hub is not square to the face of the base (it moves closer then farther when turning). Not a deal breaker, but had hopes for a fan without flaws for the price.

Out of balance

Silver Swan S Vintage is our 2nd Vornado purchase (first being a model 660 for our bedroom which is truly whisper quiet at low speed and we absolutely we love!). Our satisfaction with model 660 moved us to look for a more decorative style Vornado model for our living room (14 ft x 14 ft), daytime use, quietness not as important.
We like the metal workmanship of Swan S Vintage, it's a pleasing decorative piece in room.  We purchased knowing it's noise level is slightly higher than 660.  I only operate at low speed and it's noise level is reasonable quiet at low speed (mild white noise), classic tone of this style metal blade fan.  Oscillating mode, (though I rarely use), has been pleasantly quiet without any mechanical noise from components.  Though only owned for 1 month, I don't see any reason not to expect years of good performance.

Stylish and reasonably quiet

I bought this fan about a month ago and it has been in constant use ever since. It is quite heavy, but that more substantial metal frame not only makes it seem more likely to last, it also lends it a presence and stability lacking in most modern plastic fans.

a REAL fan

I had looked at this several times before deciding to buy. Overall very pleased. Looks fantastic and the output is so great I keep it on low most of time. I only gave it 4 stars because the fan makes some noise. Isolated the noise to the oscillating button. Seems to not be centered and vibrates off the side of the hole.

Vintage look

I bought two of these and the first one makes a lot of noise as it oscillates back and forth. All fans make a little noise, but this one kept me up at night. The second fan made an awful noise, as if there is a screw loose inside, rattling as the fan moves. Both fans are a major disappointment.
