I bought this to update an older model that I have. I can not "do the kitchen" without it! It is VERY easy to use, fits in my hand very well, and does an excellent job of removing ALL the air from the bag. Just an FYI, only 2 bags come with it, but you can buy bags separately. This is great for items where I want to open the bag, get some out, and then seal the bag again and again. Great product! Highly recommend.

I bought another FoodSaver Cordless Handheld Food Vacuum Sealer because the one I purchased before when they first came out finally died.  It lasted a really long time even when using multiple times a day.  I found a trick to making the seal on the vacuum bags last longer.  Don't hold the sealer on the bag until it's sealed.  Hold it for a few seconds, stop for a second then start again - repeat.  This only adds about 30 seconds, but the seal will holder better after repeated use.  I liked it so much, I had --bought one and the bags for my best friend before.  She loves it too.   We both have small hands and it is a perfect size, weighs almost nothing and takes up only about 4 square inches.

Do you want to keep food fresh all the time?

Only buy this vacuum if you're not needing to heat seal. I owned 2 previous FoodSaver vacuum units and purchased various hard containers with lids to bags that needed heat sealed after vacuuming too the zipper top closing bags that you vacuum seal through the hole in the top of the bag. This hand held unit works as quick as their most expensive models and takes up way less room than a counter top model. It stays charged but I have too check and see if it hurts to leave on the charger most of the time when I'm not using it. I  believe that I'm better off not using the vacuum and heat seal bag's and just vacuum the containers and zip vacuum bags. Also I own alot of the older vacuum containers and I bought 2 sets of the new 3 - 5 cup containers and I'm tempted to give away the old FoodSaver containers and buy all new ones as their built alot better for the seal that goes around the lid that goes down on and against the container. When you push down on the lid to help prep seal it before you vacuum you can hear and feel it seal,  IMPRESSIVE!  Then when you go to seal it your not having to fight it you might say or flat out it just doesn't take as long  too seal something. NOTE  - I also take that reservoir off and I have lots of the older adapter units that goes with the ofer FoodSaver models with the hose vacuums and I attach that to the hand held and it conforms to the older FoodSaver vacuum containers as I found out that this hand held doesn't match up as well and I had to struggle with it more than I liked,  time consuming it was. Not sure if FoodSaver still has these so you have to check with them as when I was checking too get a new vacuum unit,  3 of the big sellers on line just didn't have the older vacuum containers. Very glad I didn't find any and ended up buying those new containers as it made me a believer that they actually improved the new containers. A bit pricey but will pay for themselves in the long run. 

See 2 attached pictures of my project yesterday I had 6 lbs of ground beef,  hamburger that I vacuumed. Made 5.5 oz patties got 18 of those patties and 1 7.5 oz patty, all down and vacuumed in FoodSaver 1 gallon vacuum zip lock bag's in about 33 minutes by myself. I love this unit and FoodSaver products. 

One thing,  the reason I don't like the heat sealing bags is you have to wash them out and that's a pain. So here's my tip from my experience of using FoodSaver products and vacuuming and storing food products. If it's going to be a food item that's going to cause a mess I'll put it in a container versus a bag as a container is alot easier to clean up than the bag's and not to mention but alot easier to dry out. Also another thing is on the food items that I vacuum in the bags and freeze,  I'll take like those frozen burger patties out and put in a FoodSaver container  vacuum and put in the refrigerator to thaw then I leave the empty bag in the freezer till the next time I make burger patties. They never get bacteria in them.

Only buy this if you're not needing to heat seal!

It's a great invention for making fresh food last longer.  The zipper seal bags, I cut up my lettuce place it in the bag get the air out place in the frig open when I need it, and reseal it. Works on all fresh foods and lasts 3 times longer. I have sealed tomatoes, peppers, celery, and fruits.  I leave this on my counter in its charging station, ready for use. The reuseable seal bags are perfect for portioning out frozen vegetables.  The cost of food these days helps alot.

Save fresh food longer

This is the item I never realized In needed in my life!! I am addicted to vacuum sealing everything in my fridge! Lol! This little gadget is small and quiet. This is going to save hundreds and I won't be throwing out so much spoiled food! I love it!

I needed this!

I have a full-size vacuum sealer and an attachment for sealing the zipper bags, but since moving to a smaller home I no longer have room for it on my counter. This works great so I can quickly reseal deli meat or cheese without going out to the garage to haul in the big appliance.

Space saver

It's much quieter then my full size machine and the older hand held.

 I use it mostly to seal mason jars. But there is a trick some may not know. You have to remove the cap on the bottom and insert the black stick into the jar sealing cap.. (Photo attached).   

I also use it to  reseal cheese/lunch meat in  the zipper bags . When doing that ,you leave the cap on it.

I've used a Food Saver since they first came out , this is one of their better ideas.

Small and quiet but works great.

It is a very nice, compact unit and does the job.  It has one weakness, the two pins on back that contact to charge while in the charging unit have weak springs.  Be very carful when placing and removing unit from charger.

I purchased this along with bags . I have had it for 5 months and the battery doesn't last for me to finish sealing 2 smaller bags. I'm very disappointed especially since it's made by Foodsavor.

Battery charge doesn't last

Worked great for three weeks and then it quit pulling the air out. Motor running but wouldn't pull air out. Tried several different bags but didn't work. Applied for a refund or replacement and was denied even though it was within the timeframe. Walmart would not refund or replace.
