Wonderful piece. This Dutch oven looks even better than the photos. Great for family gatherings. The dimples on the inside of the lid baste and keep the food moist. The lid also seals very well, (better than my other Dutch oven's, I won't mention names). I have had nothing but praise for the food cooked in this Staub. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Full time RV traveler adjusting to induction cooking.  Hard to give up the family pots & pans.  This is a great replacement for my soups and stews, etc. It is heavy but that comes with the size I ordered.

7.25qt seems large, but is perfect for everything from baking bread to making stews and braising lamb shanks.  If you want to cook for more than 1-2 people, I recommend this size.

New favorite piece

I have a Le Creuset braising pan, but this 7 qt. Cocotte is my third Staub product.  Staub units are heavier with larger handles.  I like the slightly "Retro" design of the lids which accommodate the self basting studs on the underside.  The lid fits snugly over the pot so steam does not escape.  The black interior which appears to be bare cast iron is actually ceramic coated just like the exterior, so there is no need to pre season.  I apply a thin layer of peanut oil on the surface prior to cooking and after washing which yields a non stick surface.

Preference for Staub products

This thing is an absolute unit!! It's clearly built with extremely high quality standards. The enamel is flawless, and the color match between my two pieces (this and a 4 qt I have as well) is excellent. I love the flat lid as well to hold a spoon, vs. other brands I considered with a curved lid that spoons slid off of. Overall, the even heating and moisture distribution has worked exactly as advertised and I can't wait to continue using this for many years to come!

Kitchen Staple for Many Years to Come

Looks beautiful. Early on but it seems like it will be a great addition for years to come. It lives out in the open on our stovetop since it's the best looking cooking tool in the kitchen.
