I've had it for about a week and we're in the middle of a heatwave here in the midwest. Within the first half hour of having it on, it cooled down my room so quick, and it's a big room with no insulation in the walls. The first night, after it had been running for a few hours, I had to switch to fan mode because it was freezing. It's been 95 or higher the last four days and it really keeps the entire room cool. We didn't have ac for about two weeks and I had almost forgotten what it was like to have it. I love this unit. It's the perfect size for the bedroom we're in. My ONE issue was that the window panel was probably 2mm too long for my window and I couldn't  cut it down so I just punched it in until it fit lol. Other than that, great unit.

I have the unit right aside of my bed and it's so quiet. It doesn't affect my sleep at all keeps the room nice and cool great product. I would buy it definitely again.

I love my AC

This handy AC is helping keep my primary bedroom a lot cooler during these hot summer months. The central AC unit is on the other side of my house and that left my room being the warmest, until I installed this AC. I like that it will be easy to store in the winter and it doesn't block my window view. Highly recommend it!

The installation would have been easier if it was compatable with windows that go up and down. The window kit is ONLY for windows that open side to side. We had to modify it and place foam in areas that were left open.

This unit is **GREAT** for someone who knows how to use it properly.  Someone who does not know would hate it.  I turn it on BEFORE the hottest part of the day so it won't run continuously.  For days 90 degrees and hotter I use a box fan on medium speed to blow cold air into the other half of my apartment.  Without that one half feels like a refrigerator %26 the other half feels warm.   The 75 degree setting feels too cold for me without venting the air to the other half of my apartment.  I prefer 78 %26 78 is cheaper.

For days below 90 fan mode works great too.  I'm trying to figure out if fan mode or AC mode would be cheaper on those days bc with AC mode it does not have to run continuously.

GREAT TIPS! How I use it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] works great, easy setup wish the window fittings had snap lines to size. Had to saw off about 4 inches to fit it in window without cutting of exhaust port. also wish the screen would tell me why it's  not blowing cool(water basin full, at set temp, defrost) nice when you don't have to think about it. other then those nit pickins. thumbs up

Recieved early June, had unit set up and used 3 to 5 hrs a day for 5 days starting late June. Water would 1/2 fill bucket each time through small hose into bucket. Had unit in cool mode, and wouldn't leave running all night, as I'm bedridden and afraid of safety if overflowed bucket onto floor and wires. (Fire ).  Shortly after vent hose kept blowing apart from back of unit. Haven't used since, and no heat and air companies here in Renfrew would even offer any interest in looking into it , they don't deal much with portable or window air units.One out of town handyman business would charge $100 just to walk in door. I don't know what to do, seems I have to take the cost loss. $349.00 + tax

R32 3/1 portable 8000 btu unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worked well in cooler temperatures,  but once it broke 75 degrees it could barely cool a 120 sq foot room. After two months quit blowing cold air entirely,  couldnt get a refund or repair as it is a third party seller. Had to replace with unit from Home Depot.

Overpriced and overestimated cooling capacity

I bought it thinking it could cool my living room but had to change it to a smaller room and still doesn't feel like it's working the way it should. Waste of money.

Doesn't work.

Despite measuring my windows, it didn't fit well. Only one slider section fit in the window and i ended up duct taping it in to keep it in. The unit is loud, but I don't mind. It blows strong and cold, but never comes back on automatically-ever. It can get to 80 in the room (10x11), but the AC won't come back on even when set to 72. I have to turn it down to 71 or turn it off then on. Same with fan. It runs for a few minutes, but stops and doesn't come back on. No instructions on setting timer. The remote works, but the display is on top of the unit, so you can't see it. Not very helpful. If I hadn't cut the box to shreds opening it up, I would return it. I wish I had paid more for window unit. Gonna be a long summer.
