[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with the quality of this Coofit fermenting jar. The glass is clear and robust, which is important for longevity. The water airlock is very reliable and provides a good seal, creating the perfect anaerobic environment for my pickles. I've completed one batch of carrots and one batch of dill pickles, and both turned out perfectly with no mold issues. I especially like that I can see the fermentation progress through the clear glass. It looks great on my counter, too! This is a high-quality vessel that I expect to use for years to come. A definite upgrade from my old mason jar system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a neat jar for making sauerkraut and kimchee... it makes a big batch the will last a while. If you follow directions and use a good recipe, you'll be happy with the results. My first batch of sauerkraut came out great, but you should err on the low end of the salt range required by the recipe.

Neat Way to Ferment

I have been just using regular mason with pickle pebbles, etc. and those work great but this right here is wonderful. Zero Maintenance during the process if you like, fermenting food such as onions, carrots, etc..
I did not need the tongs. I don't really like them. The little bottle washer is nice but not necessary.

If you love fermenting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you like a pickling jar wit a water seal, this is the product for you. I ran it through the dishwasher without a problem. The supplied tongs are too short to pick up pickled vegetables from the bottom of the jar - I had to get longer tongs. The jar works well as advertised.

The pickling jar for you

pros: the price is great, but you pay for. I didn't want to spend a large sum if i wasn't going to like the pickles I made with this. its cool to see the transformation through the glass

cons: the mote is very shallow and narrow, if you fill it too full the air bubbles push the water out over the sides, or much worse, when you lift the lid it pulls the mote water into your pickle jar, wich could spoil your pickle brine!

over all, i would not purchase again, but it's still useful. I'll upgrade to a more thoughtfully made jar in the future. it's good if your like me and dont want to invest a bunch of money in an unknown outcome, and you'll be able to babysit the mote and its ity bity amount of water.
