I actually don't mind the straw being a hard material because it causes less of a desire for my son to want to teethe with it. The parts are easy to hand wash and I don't have any issues with leaking.

It's sturdy, durable, and insulated to keep drinks cool for hot summer days. My kid is great at spilling drinks, but we couldn't get this cup to leak even after shaking it- so I'd say it's pretty leak-proof. I found it easy to clean with a reusable straw pipe cleaner, and the designs and color scheme are really adorable. As it's insulated and made of metal, it's on the heavy side, so it might be best for kids 4+.

Great design but the drinking difficulty

It's like sucking through a straw that has a hole it in. It the liquid doesn't come up smooth at all. I tried fixing it to see if it was user error and not well assembled but no luck. I hate to cut a hole where it has the leak proof part and my son is still not a fan.
