I needed to replace my Epson printer which continually gave me issues with the quality of prints it produced so I decided to try Canon.  I did not have the space for one of Canon's larger photo printers and saw the TS8820.  This was the perfect sized photo printer and although I would not get the quality of prints that a larger Canon printer would give, I am very please with the way my prints come out.  I've even made prints for others that really love them.  The printer was easy to set up and I was able to start printing in a short time.  This is by far better than my other printer.

The TS 8820 I purchased has been great! Set up using the instructions for wireless printing was straightforward and smooth. So far, I've printed documents and some photos. I love the rear tray for photo paper and card stock. Very happy with my purchase.

Great printer for home use

I am very happy with the Canon PIXMA TS8820 printer. I have used a Canon PIXMA MG7720 printer for the past several years. In my opinion, the TS8820 is a faster printer with similar print quality and a huge step up in software development. The TS8820 is so much easier for me to use.

Liking the PIXMA TS8820 a lot!

an  excellent  printer  quite  speedy.  easy  setup,  nice screen  with  useful  information.   easy to install the ink cartridges.  nice  scanner function though i  mainly use Canon's LIDE 400.  the  scanning software which guides  both  the TS8820  &  the  LIDE 400 is  very useful.   the  only potential  drawback is the  retractable  output  bin.  it  works  fine,  but  because  it  is  mechanical,  at  some point  it  may fail.

a  niftty printer

Bought this printer to replace an older Canon PIXMA printer where the drivers could no longer updated. Set up was easy, the quality of printed documents and pictures are wonderful.  The printer is compact and fits on a small file cabinet. One frustrating thing is the ink and unwrapping them to install, I had a couple that leaked and got all on my hands.

Great printer finally

Great printer.   I only like Canon. Easy to set up and connect to wifi.  Prints fast.

My Pixma MG 6220 finally died, so I decided on the TS 8820 because it was a brand new model. One little hiccup occurred the other day when it was stuck in processing mode. I turned it off and restarted it; after that, it was fine. I do like the fact that it has 6 inkjet colors and it prints very fast.

So Far So Good

I was sent this printer as a free sample to review.  Overall, it's an effective mid-range printer.  The printing is slightly blurred/not 100% crisp on all purpose paper, but fine for most things including reports.  I also printed photos on glossy paper which turned out better.  I like how sturdy this is, the option of loading the paper from the top or front (good options for storing it in tight spaces), and the tilt screen.

Some issues I had with this printer are that there are a few parts that easily come off (paper tray areas) when moving it around my counter, and although no pink or yellow printed on the first alignment test, the full color photos I later printed had all the colors.

It took me over an hour to figure out how to set this up/get something to print!  The app wasn't working on my android, and I could only connect to print from my Google Drive, which was an annoying extra step to upload it there from my computer.  My laptop found it via the wi-fi connection, but only saw it as a scanner; I couldn't print a PDF. 
 After much Googling I finally got it working, and have had no troubles printing 6 documents on different days, and 8 color photos on glossy paper (this was the most helpful tutorial: https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART171728).

Overall, this printer seems overly complicated to set up, but has many options on the touchscreen for ease of printing (print directly from Dropbox, Evernote and Google Photos, among others).  It printed photos really nicely.

This seems to use a newer ink style (Canon 231) so it's harder to find.
