The device is well constructed. The installation of the device was straightforward. You can hand wrench it  on. You need to have an outlet near the water heater to plug in the device. 
To remove the Anode rod, an impact tool is recommended.

This product can save thousands over 20 years. In Las Vegas we have water that destroys the standard rod in a year. Every time you flush , it needs changing. Plumbers charge between $200 to 250 . I recommend this to al.
